Anyone here banking with these guys? Not trying to open a can of racism but my first reaction was "Whoa, is my money safe there?" Reason I ask is because they have a pretty sweet savings account, 7.2% variable atm. http://www.arabbank.com.au/home **EDIT** This new bank came from nowhere as well: http://www.ubank.com.au/home/index.html |

that is pretty f***ing good.. never heard of them but I guess if they're an Australian bank, your savings there are still guaranteed by the government, right? |

Sounds good, as long as the government doesn't freeze your investments because they were funding an allies' enemies.

TBH I'd avoid any previously unheard of banks like the plague in the current financial market, regardless of the government's guarantee.

This new bank came from nowhere as well: http://www.ubank.com.au/home/index.html It was advertised on here for AGGEESSS when they first opened, I got a sweet 8% term deposit for 3 months, pretty stoked as it was just before rate cuts! :D |

pinky I think is using the far superior ausgamers forum which, haha, isn't so superior to offer post deletion. I have just added that to the todo. |

So why do superior ausgamers threads appear in the vastly inferior qgl forum? :P

The QGL colour scheme does my head in. Too dark. Although, at least I can see my own avatar on it - and the pink looks nice against the dark bg colour ;-) But yeh, AG forum for me. Plus, the whole 'Queensland' thing. Urgh. |

The qgl forum might be ugly, the colours might make your eyes go wonky but at least it fills the entire screen unlike the ausgamers forum that leaves half the screen useless and covered in an even more ugly green colour.
qgl > ag edit: wtf? I just looked at the ausgamers version of this thread and I have a completely different avatar. I lol'd last edited by whoop at 21:42:47 17/Dec/08 |

Out of curiosity, are there any major differences between the two? I have used both and only noticed a layout/colour theme difference (and the aforementioned issue of different links/buttons on each).
Now that you've made me think about it, I have no idea why I use qgl and not ag. |

Ausgamers looks like one of those loud shirts my teacher used to wear.
QGL is just suave. |
