Some people like spooties, some people like facts.

Italian BMT from Subway. You get ham, you get pepperoni, you get salami.

What does the BMT stand for?

Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit

The location of the first subway in New York City, tied in with a promotion.

Now they market it as Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest.

As of 2004, it was Subway's most popular cold sandwich in the United Kingdom.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the way Subway put tuna on is f***ing disgusting. It's like a big pile of s*** they scoop out of a container and then spread over the sub. It's the most unappealing thing ever.

Yeah dude my mum does that ice cream scoop s*** for everything, like mashed potato... really puts me off. I've seen that sort of s*** on Kitchen Nightmares and Ramsay does not like.

When i was a bum uni student many years ago I worked there. Mixing the tuna in with mayo was gross. We opened the tin, drained the juice and then piled on mayo and mixed it with our hands. Then there was the seafood mix. We had frozen blocks of "seafood salad" that we would defrost. Then we would get a huge machete type knife (i think its called a dicer?) and cut the seafood into squares and pull it apart. Then we mixed in the mayo the same way.

What came out was the ugly tuna/seafood mayo mess that you guys see in the container served up on subs.

The wierdiest sub I ever made for a customer was Chicken Fillets/meatballs and seafood mix with no salad and double cheese. Could you imagine how it tasted.

yep pretty f***ed up

same as that seafood bulls*** as tiny said

the funniest thing i've ever seen were these f***ing hicks asking why chicken was more expensive than seafood - that's how simple these people were

then getting angry because they thought they were getting some deal when they ordered the wrong thing and didn't like how much it came out to be

BMT ftw

Subway chicken is a gamble. I know many people who got sick because they obviously haven't reheated the chicken properly.

yeah I'm always skeptical when they don't nuke my chicken before it goes into the toaster oven, I tell them to do both

I hope you subway lovers aren't also the ones complaining about being overweight in the other thread >.< Subway has created the great myth that their subs are "healthy", when a lot of the footlongs have more calories than maccas value meals...

ie. meatball

that stuff is foul, and really bad for you!

I thought once chicken was cooked (properly) it wasn't at any higher risk for salmonella etc than any other kind of cold cut? The chicken fillets and strips Subway use is cooked well before it ever makes it to the stores.

In summer I'll usually order my chicken subs cold, am I more at risk?!

BMT + chicken strips with marinara (meatball for the uninformed) sauce, mozarella cheese, italian herb bread, toasted.

It's expensive ($15+), but it's oh so meaty.

Pretty much all of them are bad unless they're the "6 grams of fat or less" bulls***, which in itself is deceiving in itself. http://www.subway.com.au/assets/documents/australia%20web%20nutrition%20updated%202-3-2010.pdf

*need to clarify what I mean by "bad" - footlongs all have a lot of calories, which isn't great if you're trying to lose weight.

i have been eating meatball footlongs multigrain for weeks now, not getting much fatter.

also I have stopped excercising lately.

maybe its just that my muscles are witherwing away and my fat is replacing them? meh, i love food to much to go on a diet.

Always get them to microwave ur chicken fillets before they go in the toaster oven.
I only eat Meatball sub now. Onions and swiss cheese on top of the meatballs then toasted.

i've recently been going 6" roasted chicken with double meat and i'm finding that's getting me through the afternoon + the gym aswell

In some ways I view sandwiches as merely a means to eat the sauce.

if only had a 6" for lunch, id be starving;

also, id expect a footlong to have calories than a value meal, its a s*** load more food;

a value meal is tiny

Haha, this is exactly how I feel, but not just about sandwiches. Steak, chicken, pasta, whatever - I just need an excuse for awesome tasty sauces.

The Subway at Salisbury has a "hunger buster" sub. IIRC, it's a toasted meatball with double cheese, double bacon, salami, pepperoni (and possibly ham?) with drink and cookie for $14.95.

I considered ordering it once, just out of morbid curiosity. Then my aorta jumped out my chest and punched me in the face for even thinking about it :(

Yes I am, which is why I didn't actually order it.

(my aorta didn't really jump out of my chest and punch me in the face, I was joking ;))

The seafood salad stuff is oh so nice, but I nobody else seems to be able to stand it.
I have absolutely no idea what goes into it and I probably don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss.

Subway is very salty.
I never get extra salt.

I wish they had a standard method for applying sauce.
Too much sauce Sloppifies the Sub and also the sauces seem very salty.

Haha yeah. Apparently when I say "just a small amount of sauce please" they must hear something in sandwich artist language that resembles "four stripes of sauce - up, down, up down". I don't think I'd want to see what happens when someone asks them to pile the sauce on.

Yeah wtf?

I say "just one strip" and they go up and down 4 times and it's f***ing dripping in sauce.

Seriously wtf.
