I'm a big Postal Service fan. When I heard that Owl City song I nearly head-butted the car radio. Do you even realise how challenging it would be to contort your body in such a way as to be able to head-butt a car radio? But I nearly did it.

His lyrics are clever and have double entendres littered throughout. It's amusing how some of his lyrics lead up to it being something obvious and then not ('The open summer breeze will sweep you through the hills' you expect trees due to how it is sung, but he says hills :P)


Anyway. My husband likes Owl City and he normally hates my music. My best mate has no idea what he is going on about and doesn't listen to him.

I like Owl City and like it for his lyrics more than his music, but the music makes it as well. Ocean Eyes has been in my car from before Fireflies went viral.

Seriously though, Own City is disgustingly s***. The lyrics of 'Fireflies' are so retarded I could shoot whoever wrote it. It's just littered with failed attempts at being poetic... "1000 hugs from 10,000 lightning bugs". It seems like it's written by a 16 year old. You would have to have severely limited brain power to enjoy this garbage.

Going to get thrashed for this, but I like the music. I realise it's not his voice on the CD (autotune), but I'm not going to see Owl City live, so I could not care less. I also like the Postal Service. Yes, arguing over music taste is extremely pointless, it doesn't impact on your life in the slightest.

I also like the Deftones and their lyrics make even less sense. Get over it.

I came across that fireflies video on youtube by accident & clicked on it thinking it had something to do with Nathan Fillion. I loved how every comment on the video was about how gay that song is. I hate that song.
