Please read this article before posting.
Forum noobs again spoil a great thread due to poor grammar. *rollseyes* edit: code doesn't like the apostrophe in the title but you can see the article. |

Dan, your gay. But not quite as gay as infi.
Then than tran what's the difference ? ... well 'cept the machette How many nubs type duals instead of duels. Practice ? Practise ? Also gg for refencing a seppo site for the english language ... they can't even spell colour yet. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, spelling and to a lesser degree grammar are artifacts. English dictionaries didn't exist until the mid 18th century. And yet people managed to communicate fine, not to mention language changes. |

His and he's (he is) also a problem.
The English language has its faults, but that doesn't mean we should throw it away, and it makes it far harder to read when people don't use the proper spelling of words. Obes your a nub iz da trth k nuber then u mum Obes, you're a newb, ok? It's true that you're newber than your mother. While both statements are 100% accurate, I'd rather read books filled with what the second sentence represents than the first ... otherwise I'd feel like I was in New Zealand. last edited by dice at 15:50:17 22/Apr/08 |

Your and you're make perfect sense...
Though then and than make no sense to me, I can't recall anytime I've used "than" in a written sentence. Then again I got a SA in highschool english. AlsoOne thing that REALLY s***s me is "of" instead of "have". Isn't the proper english "should have" but 99.9% of people write/say "should of"? last edited by CHUB at 16:01:27 22/Apr/08 |

Trog, perhaps you should use the type of literacy test like the one in KOL where you have to gain access before posting in the chatbox.

there are a pair of birds there Yeah Jim and co are right, that is incorrect. "Pair" is the focus here not "birds", so it's singular. There is a pair of birds there. The mistake people make is: There's some grapes over there 'Grapes' is the focus there, not 'some', so it should be: There are some grapes over there. last edited by dice at 16:53:42 22/Apr/08 |
