Probably midnight tonight.

The Sinet "upgrade" sucks so much right now that I don't even know how to navigate it properly. For example, log in and try to view the timetable of a course you aren't enrolled in. What's that? Have to log out first and jump through hoops?

They also seemed to remove the current time from the bottom of the page. What a f***ing downgrade to the site.

Here's a demo of its user-unfriendliness ...

Step 1:

Step 2:

Step 3:

Step 4:

Ok so you finally view the timetable and go to view another. And you get this logical messagebox. Click Cancel to Continue!?

Not only that but the school if ITEE had a major budget cut. So many good course culled, and staff removed ><

Studies Reports not accessible until 5 July

The Studies Report in mySI-net will not be available to students until 5 July 2007.

The Studies Report is currently switched off until the day after the official release of results (4 July). The Studies Report link will reappear on 5 July. The View Results link will appear on 4 July.

This withdrawal of student access to the Studies Report during the examinations and grading period is the standard procedure at this time of the semester.

Nah I'm doing postgrad EE (lots of 7xxx level COMS and electro-mag courses). Was just using ELEC1000 as an example of something I've done before. Why, are you doing 1st year?

And LOL @ where they inserted the View Results link. It's a puzzle everytime you want to find something :)

Got Progress Pass (Year long subject), 7, 7

One of those subjects I was worried whether I'd pass or not, because it was ridiculous. For anyone who's interested, it was one of Prof. Ian Hayes' courses, and he has a penchant for reaming me. Hardcore.

Dear Student

Please be advised that you might not be able to see all of your Semester
1 results via mySI-net. All grades were uploaded by your lecturers and
are held in the mySI-net system, but some grades are not viewable by a
small number of students. Please be assured we are working as quickly
as we can to identify and correct the problem that is preventing you
from viewing some or all of your results.

Apologies.

Ian Holmes

Well that sucked... I called up and a nice person gave me my results over the phone which she is actually not allowed to do. But f***ing sweet I think I'll get into honours next year provided I don't fail 3 subjects next semester!!!!

can anyone please explain to me how cumulative GPA is worked out?

I thought you just added up all the marks you've gotten for each subject divided by the number of subjects you've taken?

edit: though that would be average not cumulative!? argh

It's:

sum(grade_for_each_course * num_units_for_that_course) / total_num_units.

So if you did all #2 unit courses, then yes it's an average.
edit: though that would be average not cumulative!? argh

By cumulative they mean degree-wide average, as opposed to semester average that resets every semester (that used to be how many universities used to calculate GPAs)
