Topic: How to completely remove firefox?

I have this problem with firefox. When i save-as an image it takes between 30-60 seconds to give me back my browser. it just completely hangs the current tab and all firefox windows. this annoys the utter f*** out of me to the point where i've decided to remove firefox and reinstall it.

The problem is when i do this firefox reinstalls with the same problem (and my bookmarks and history). I've gone in to add/remove programs, chosen mozilla firefox, and it removed it. i then went in to [bootdrive]\program files\ and delete mozilla firefox folder

i then rebooted

double clicked on 1.5.0.2, installed, started firefox and still have the same problem.

Any help appreciated.

there are profiles kept in local settings and application data. Docs and Settings/username/Application data/ and Docs and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data

Local settings is hidden.

Yeah pretty much what Reso said, I had to do it once on my PC at home due to soooo many versions of Firefox & extensions I've installed over the years. As soon as you do the usual uninstall from control panel & delete all the Application data stuff, mine runs like a dream now.

I get this problem when I've built up a huge list of files in the download window, which goes away once I clear it ("clean up"). I dunno if your list of downloaded files isn't being cleared with the reinstall or whatever though, but that's what works for me.

yeah i had that same issue and it was simply the number of files i had in my download history.

open the download window, click clean up, go get yourself a coffee.

Cool that fixed my problem of FF locking up for about 10 seconds when starting a download, but i dont love you because that would be gay.

That's probably because ie only lets you download 2 things at once, and doesn't have a built in download manager.
