Every year since 2018 we've produced a countdown of the 10 best games of the year that was, kicking off on New Year's Day. In addition we've also produced an Honourable Mentions list of the 10 games that didn't make the final cut on the penultimate day, rounding out delivery of the year's best from 20 games over 11 days. And this year we're back with another countdown, already featuring two entries in at 10 and Nine respectively...



It's not a stretch to say that every year we have an eclectic manifest of games to pour through, but we can't help but feel this year might be the most unique of the lot.

The way it works is we have a single AusGamers Top 10 Best Games of 2022 feature at the ready. We add each entry into that feature page daily (usually in the wee hours of the morning) until we get to Number Two, then we share a full Honourable Mentions Top 10 and then round out with the coveted Number One in the final day (January 11). We're already at Day Two with numbers 10 and Nine revealed... what comes in next at Number Eight?

I haven't played any new games this year I think, unless the dragon expansion for wow counts.

Would love to play Elden Ring, the time investment and outdated PC put me off. One day, have to do the tax time write off for *office work* haha.

I love Elden Ring from afar, but I'm self-aware enough to know that I shouldn't play Souls games!
