EA Partners have officially anounced the development of an as yet untitled sequel to American McGee's Alice, the accalimed third person shooter inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Universe.

Renowned ex id Software developer American McGee's Shanghai-based Spicy Horse Games will be developing the new game, with the original Alice's Executive Producer RJ Berg once again filling those shoes on the new project.
“This new project is a dream come true for me and the fans who’ve kept the Alice flame alive,” said American McGee, senior creative director at Spicy Horse. “EA gave us creative latitude and support on the original game which resulted in something beautiful and daring. This trip through the looking glass promises to be even more exciting.”
There's no word on what engine the game will use (Alice was built on Quake 3), however it has been confirmed that it will be delivered on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Interesting news, I quite enjoyed this game when it was released. It had some rather wonderful visuals early on in the game in terms of level architecture.

I'd have thought that American McGee's Grimm (currently being released in installments via GameTap) would have been the spiritual sequel...
