Starbreeze Studios have released a new trailer from The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Today's 1 minute clip shows off some more of digital Vin Diesel in various flashy in-game action scenes. Check it out right here in the AusGamers video library.

Atari have recently confirmed March 20 2009 as the Australian release date for Assault on Dark Athena - simultaneous for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As always, more details and media can be found over on our game page

Looked forward to this.. really enjoyed the first one.

Yep. It was originally just going to be a current-gen remake of the first one with some bonus extra missions, but they apparently built so much extra content that now the original-remake part has become the bonus extra and the main campaign will be the whole new part of the story.

the first game was pretty rad, better than the second movie.

Dan explained it fairly clearly. They were remaking butcher bay, but then decided to make a new game (Assault on Dark Athena) and include the remake of butcher bay as a bonus.

f*** yes. Butcher Bay was probably one of the best SP gaming experiences I can remember.

*spoiler* how cool was the end when the head warden got whacked! was a little disappointed that more people didn't work it the two dude's were riddick and the bounty hunter.
