After a bit of a false start with an early leak, the Spore Creature Creator trial is now officially available for download! The official site hasn't yet been updated but it should be pretty soon. Download it now and start creating crazy critters to prepare yourself for the real deal.

If you've been looking around there's plenty of hilarious attempts so far; if you make anything worthy make sure you share it in the comments!

Yeah I meant right now. The EA store (even for a digital copy) only accepts US/Canada preorders.

direct2drive has an option to get the full game pre-ordered and editor now. I dunno, its worth checking out because it has the editor available to download today.

I'm quite sure Rule #54 in the "How to shaft Australians in online/retail sales" rulebook has this covered :)

is it multiplayer?

is it a continuous game, or is it played like an rts like aoe or something?

The full version wont be multi-player as such, however you can download creatures created by other people (and vice versa), and play them inside your own single player game. Theres a heavy 'social-player' component to this game.
