Topic: Activision - "BIG Announcement Tomorrow"

Activision Australia have sent through word they'll be officially announcing something very big tomorrow. What could it be? They haven't mentioned too much, locally, about Guitar Hero World Tour, so it could just be that, or there has been speculation for a while we'd be seeing an update to the uber-successful Call of Duty franchise with its fifth instalment (I think there was even talk of it becoming an MMO). But we can't forget any of Activisions other stable brands such as Id titles (new Doom or Quake?) and Tony Hawk as well as licensed products like Shrek and Spider-Man.

Your guess is as good as ours (or is it?), so let us know what you think we might be hearing about tomorrow. Personally, I want to see a new CoD ASAP!

lol cod.....

its like a product you'd find at a cheap supermarket...one minute its on the 'new' shelf next its on the 'bargain shelf' all while knowing its lacking quality and the only thing that keeps you coming back is that the new flavour is just around the corner.

what a p.o.s

I'm not sure I'm looking too forward to COD5 or whatever they'll call it. Especially since it will apparently be done by Treyarch. Not that COD3 was boring or terrible (I quite enjoyed the single player in it). I just mean I'm not as excited as I was for COD4.

Oh hey maybe the announcement is regarding the map pack for PC!?!? I'd like that!

COD4 was absolutely fantastic, there is no way in hell you could claim that was lacking quality.

But yeah, I wouldn't be that excited about a cod5 unless it was the same team doing it that did cod4

Wtf, Haklin clearly hasn't played CoD4.

I don't give a s*** about CoD5 though, after hearing that it's probably going to be back in WWII.

COD4 was the most refreshingly good war shooter since COD1 basically started it all

The announcement is probably about Guitar Hero 4. I hear it's doing something massive to stay competitive with Rock Band etcetera

An announcement about an announcement is completely retarded and I wish companies would stop doing it. They try to build up hype but it usually turns out a big disappointment.

I'll be very very surprised if this announcement is actually exciting.

As cool as that would be, I doubt it. I'd like to be proved wrong though

"After receiving an email by someone called Boba, we have decided to charge double what you are already paying for our quality, ground breaking products. We believe the Australian public will embrace these changes with open hands with the understanding that because you live in such a fine country you would be more then happy to pay more for something that is sometimes less. Enjoy"

Am I just f***ing jaded? Because I seem to be the only one that thought COD4 was predictable as f***, linear, and handled like assballs.

Granted I only played about an hour of it, but I just didn't wanna waste anymore time on it.

Nah it wasn't just you. I liked it, finished it did enjoy it, but was very predictable and linear. That said I could see why people enjoyed it though. I've just gotten sick of FPS games really. They are all the same. 70% of the time is spent trying to make it look pretty, usualy meaning it wont run on my system and the rest of the time is spent on everything else

I felt the same way... I liked COD1, COD2 was ok, didn't like 3 much, and didn't like 4 at all. The controls and physics just feel really... uncomfortable to me.

i knew cod4 was linear as f*** and i was trapped doing what the game wanted me to

but it was so stylish and well done, i was too busy having fun, lgetting involved in the story to care

11:30am here Pacific time, and the only announcements that Activision have made are Guitar Hero World Tour, and the fact they're using American Idol finalists in some tv ads.

I wouldn't call any of those games listed as big news. There's nothing new in that line up at all but I guess they gotta get excited about something.

Nothing. Everyone already knew a guitar hero world tour was going to happen, so technicly they didn't reveal anything.
