We have been informed today that New Zealand will be receiving the same version of Grand Theft Auto IV as Australia.

As you have placed your order after Rockstar announced that the Australian version was edited, we are assuming that you will no longer require the game to be shipped from us, as we can't supply you with an uncut version.

The last thing we want to do is supply you with a product that does not meet your needs and we've therefore taken the liberty of removing your GTA4 order from our web site.

Be sure to check your email for updates if you've already been in contact with them. As a related aside - very proactive (and honest) of them to let customers know so quickly and efficiently.

It isn't what is missing that is the problem. If Rockstar took it out from all the games saying, "Yeah, we went too far' we wouldn't care and be cool wid dat shiz.

BUT a couple of dudes think they some sort of God Awesome Super People and that what they think is unsuitable must also be unsuitable for everyone in an entire country. How wrong they are to tell us what we should be playing/watching/doing. Our lives, our problems, let us deal.

Another day, another drama about Grand Theft Auto IV. To follow up from yesterday's story about an alleged statement from Take Two Interactive claiming to explain what has been cut from the Australian version of the game, I've just gotten off the phone with Rockstar Games.

They confirmed that the statement currently circulating is not correct, and any rumours that have come from it are just that - rumours.


Personally, I'll be very happy once the game's released and people can concentrate on Niko and his escapades, rather than sitting around fretting about what may or may not have been included, what may or may not have been cut, and why Australia (and New Zealand) are missing out on things that the rest of the world gets to enjoy.

Bring on April 29th, I say. Hype should be about the game, not about the politics.
