gaming giant's most anticipated release for 2007

thats a bit of a bold statement. i dont see what the hype is with halo, not a fan at all.

bring on: gta4, assasins creed, crysis, far cry 2

gta4, assassins creed, far cry 2 are all being released in 2008. makes the 'most anticipated release for 2007' a bit more realistic, especially since only people with several thousand dollars to drop on upgrading their pc's are anticipating crysis.

Actually Assassin's Creed lands in November, unless its been pushed back?

I'm a Halo fanboy, I loved the first two, loved the epic cinematic feeling to the action and the story, so I'm really hanging out for Halo 3. I don't think its a bold statement to say its Microsoft's most anticipated release for 2007, it had something like 2 million pre-orders didn't it? I'd say that makes it pretty damn anticipated.

Hardly, Halo 3 is the most pre-ordered game in history.

You only need one game this year - TF2.

Carry on.

It's a simple game with simple thrills, so it will attract simple people with simple needs.

I suppose you're one of those people who didn't like Transformers either because it had no deep plot or character development? Theres nothing wrong with simple thrills, sometimes some no-brains balls-to-the-wall epic cinematic action is just what the doctor ordered.

I think he's just being a troll.

Besides, depth is only desirable if it enriches the game. How many people think we need a blink function in games, so that your character doesn't get sore eyes and you have to run around squinting?

-Fun single player
-Fun and replayable coop
-Fun multiplayer
-Online multiplayer
-Intriguing new things (Forge, replays, live 4 player coop)
-More of the good same things that was great about halo and 2

What's not to anticipate? It still looks good to boot. I'd take all of those over drop-my-pants-and-fap-on-the-spot graphics. Right up there with TF2 for my most looked forward to games of the year.

I just had an all night (since release at 12am) co-op gameathon and without ruining anything I reccomend playing on Heroic or harder due to a resonably short campaign run time.
We managed to basically run through the game on normal in a little over 7 hours with two decent players. *rubs sleep from his eyes*

It was a lot of fun and there are quite alot more new elements to the gameplay I didn't even expect at all so was pleasantly surprised.
Tis a good fun game but would definately be better represented on higher levels of difficulty.

To me, the literature that comes with the collectors in adition to the novels is more interesting than the actual game itself but I am as yet to experience the multiplay side of it as well which should be pretty solid after 2 runs at the formula already and with aditional (very very cool) weapons and vehicles.

I picked it up this morning took your advice xy and I'm playing on heroic, after a day (probably about 6 hours) I'm at mission 5 of 9. Mainly because I was disappointed by playing through bioshock so quickly on the normal difficult and regretted it.

But so far it's been pretty sweet, as expected it doesn't break any new ground, the graphics aren't gears of war amazing, but they're a more subtle look, the atmosphere effects and HDR lighting that when the light catches things at a certain angle you go "oh that's nice" compared to the gears of war "holy s*** that looks awesome"

The environments are suitable epic with some awesome vistas overlooking mountains or other spoilerific things I won't mention.

Oh and the mongoose quad bikes are f***ing awesome, they're introduced and used in such a kickarse way.

Haven't touched multiplayer yet but I'm looking forward to coop 4 player, my gamertag is "WetWired" if anyone here is keen.
