Topic: Nintendo DS and Wii Games (finally) Dated for 2007

Nintendo has finally lifted the lid on some of their more anticipated releases for 2007 in Australia, which is welcome new given many of the games have already been released abroad. On the DS front, Nintendo of Australia have revealed the DS has an install-base of more than 700,000 units here, which is a pretty strong feat. The most anticipated game for DS, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass, will be releasing on October 11 which is awesome news for DS owners. Other titles for the DS releasing this year include:
  • DK Jungle Climber - November 1
  • Naruto Ninja Council - November 15
  • Mario Party DS - December 6
  • Master of Illusion - Mid December
With the Wii, the hotly anticipated Metroid Prime 3: Corruptions has been announced for the far-off date of November 8 (probably to avoid too much clash with Halo 3). Other Wii titles releasing this year are:
  • Big Brain Academy - November 8
  • Pokemon: Battle Revolution - November 22
  • Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - December 13
  • Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - Mid December
Finally the other big news to come from The Big N in Australia is a solid release date for Super Mario Galaxy which will be hitting store shelves on November 29 across the country. Still no word on Super Smash Bros. which likely means we won't see it until some time in 2008. Still, all this means Nintendo have a pretty solid holiday season ahead.

i just finished res evil 4 on the wii (it was my first res evil game evar)

and i thought it was excellent

once i got used to the fact it wasnt really a fps (as much as i wanted it to be)

great atmosphere, fun to play, worked really well with the controller

brain academy is also great fun (1520g for my brain, i know i can do better)

I'm in exactly the same boat as you Spook - RE4 was my first...and it's one of the best games I've played hands down.

I'm not too thrilled at that preview of Umbrella though - the whole 'on rails' bit means it's going to be a House of the Dead with better graphics.

Picking up Super Paper Mario tomorrow though - should be fun. :)

yeah re4 although its a few years old now is one of the best games of last console generation. the wii version though is the definitive one. with the awesome controls, great graphics of the gamecube version, and extra missions from the ps2 version :D

ditto on picking up Super Paper Mario tomorrow :D (today)..

I tried to get it from some places today but they wouldn't really let me, except kmart, but at the 99 dollar price point..

Go to kmart tomorrow and pick it up for $69. Absolute bargain!

It's great to see that Galaxy will make it this year. I just wish Nintendo spaced out their awesome releases better, because there hasn't been anything that's interested me in the Wii since Zelda, and I've been a hardcore Nintendo fan since the NES.

I want an Xbox360 for Mass effect, but I can't convince the girly to get one. Stupid Price Tag. She also wants family games. If I want to get a 360 I have to shell out an extra $200 of my savings account, maybe more cause she wont put in for it. Put she will put in for a Wii... O the choices we have to make :(

Super Paper Mario is awesome. Played for 5 hours now and up to the 3rd world (got stuck on 2-3 for a bit). There is a LOT of text, but it is excellent and hilarious writing. The most I've ever laughed from a game and I've been playing for 17 years.

:)

ditto Steve about this years lineup. If you have a 360 and Wii it is truly epic.
I still miss the good ole n64 days though when waiting for the next issue of N64 gamer would arrive in my postbox.

Sounds good partyhat.

I'll be picking it up sometime soon, which is a good thing since I have played re4 to death.

I'd say the humor in the Banjo Kazooie series and Conkers Bad Fur Day surpasses Super Paper Mario, not by much though.
Not much of a Spoiler:
The references to Luigi's lack of manliness and Peach being a super hot babe are memorable.

hmm true lynx. I LOVED Banjo Kazooie, never really played Tooie though, but I heard it didn't live up to the first one.

Conker definitely was epic and hilarious too, I guess I sort of forgot about that, but SPM is definitely good.

If only they'd get an F-Zero or Wave Race64 game out onto the DS.
