The eGames Expo is back and will be making yet another appearance in Melbourne on the 16th, 17th and 18th of November. The event is going to be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre and should host a huge number of companies vying for ultimate product exposure. No official list of exhibitors has been revealed yet, but you can check out their website here. We'll keep you updated though and will also be in full attendance when the event rolls around. From the press release: Key features of eGames 2007 will include:Great to see Australia taking the booming gaming industry seriously, and equally great to see the gaming industry taking Australia seriously. |

Apparently half the country's game development studios are in Victoria, if you believe what the state government here says. I guess a lot of them must be startups or relatively unknown ones though.
And yeah Game Connect was run last year in Brisbane, and eGames was run last year in Melbourne (I think), so now they're just joining up and making it one big event in Melbourne. |

You guys gotta remember there's a lot of companies who do games based on movie rights, particularly for Disney and Dreamworks titles, that companies like Auran or Pandemic and all those other big studios up there which you guys would have heard of would have better things to bother with.
There's also a ton of companies who develop J2ME games and similar exclusively for Vodafone, Optus etc. Plus, we have Melbourne House/Atari and Torus (neither of which, much like Auran, have done anything useful in the past dozen years, but hey, at least people have heard of them). |

working at melbourne houseI often wonder what possesses someone to create an account, dig up an old thread and post something pointless. Are they trying to troll? I don't understand. |
