Ubisoft today announced they're working on bringing three of the most successful and critically acclaimed televisions series' to the videogame market with interactive iterations of Lost:
"Ubisoft is thrilled to be collaborating with ABC to develop this phenomenal television series into an interactive experience," said Helene Juguet, US senior director of marketing for Ubisoft in regards to the Lost license. "Ubisoft has worked closely with ABC Studios and the show’s producers to create a compelling storyline that has the same mystery, adventure and intensity fans of the show have come to expect from the 'Lost' brand."
Heroes:
"With a gripping storyline and rich characters, Heroes lends itself naturally to a video game fomat," said Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. "By offering people the chance to interact directly with the show’s captivating universe, there is no doubt that the game will appeal to both fans of the series and avid gamers."
And CSI, which they revealed the most about:
Developed by Telltale Games, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION™ Hard Evidence will continue the crime-solving experience of Ubisoft's CSI video game series. Players will join Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows and the rest of the Las Vegas cast to help solve crimes using realistic techniques and lab equipment. The game features forensic reconstructions and atmospheric crime scenes taken directly from the television show, including an all-new garage lab for analyzing large pieces of evidence, improved evidence gathering, lab mini-games, and more. There are more areas to explore and increased interaction with the CSI team, resulting in a longer play experience.
Whether or not these games will prove to be as affable and enjoyable as their TV foundations at this stage is anyone's guess. In the past though, most licensed products like this generally have a tendency to suck, but Ubisoft seem to have a creative edge these days, so fingers crossed for all you hardcore TV nuts out there.

I can see a Heroes game potentially working, but I have no idea how they're going to turn Lost into a game...

I wondered about Lost too .. I reckon they're going to not provide the user any info on how to play the game so they sit there wondering WTF - just like the show!

I don't see how you'd make a game out of Lost either. Heroes I'm interested in, but I can't say I'm optimistic about any of these games being done well, TV/Movie games are generally crap.

A 'Lost' type franchise would make for an excellent foray into episodic gaming...

I wonder if there'll be a stealth component, where you have to sneak past Sawyer and raid his stash. Or maybe a "press the button" mini-game inside the hatch. Sounds like endless hours of fun to me.

They should make Lost text based. So when you meet an NPC it might go something like this...

Player - "who are you?"
Computer - "do you honestly think I'm going to tell you"
