Demos of Lost Planet have been released, giving PC users a chance to check out this Xbox 360 title. There are two versions depending on which way you swing:

- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition DirectX9 Demo
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition DirectX10 Demo

Anyone else getting this error with the dx9 version?

ctd - If you're getting that error, DirectX isn't up to date.
Download the DLL here

trog sez, don't download random DLLs from the internets!

There's a February update for DirectX that you might need: http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/27489

Not sure if there's anything more recent than Feb (if so lemme know and I'll update mirror)

this is a cool game, finished it on 360, storyline is abit dongs, doesnt get interesting till halfway through, but its a cool setting and has cool mechs with simple controls, multiplayer is pretty fun too.

Edited the .msi with ORCA to stop it from excluding X64

Seems like it has potential, definitely needs work though.

if you are talking about the redist, just extract it anywhere and then double click the setup in that folder.

Also, this game raped my computer on high detail. amd64-4000+, 7800gtx etc etc

I take it the demo is being hammered, getting 25kb/sec :(, might try and download it from else where, need to test out my 8800 GTX.

Anyone who gets the error "Invalid Display Mode 1280x720" when trying to run the dx10 demo in Vista.

You need to upgrade Nvidia video drivers to 158.43 after that it would launch into the game for me.

FYI, it cries about not meeting the performance standard on an Athlon64 3700+ with 1GB RAM and a 6800GT, on the lowest settings.

1 gig of RAM is pretty poohouse in todays gaming standards... I guess so is a 6 series vidcard.
