AusGamers will be sitting down with BioWare's Chris Priestly tomorrow for a chat about the game and to also see some new features and other hidden goodies. This is one of the more anticipated hardcore games arriving on the Xbox 360 this year, and in the wake of being purchased by EA, Microsoft are giving us an excellent chance to grill BioWare about all things Mass Effect. To this end, we invite you to post potential questions for us to ask tomorrow ahead of an interview and preview to be posted here later in the week. We have an earlier preview for you here. You can also view our Mass Effect media by clicking here and here. |

I want to know why they're calling their characters 'digital actors', yet they don't seem to know how the f*** to do facial animation.

I want to know how this EA buyout is going to affect the sequels. I mean they've said from the beginning that Mass Effect is intended to be the first part in a trilogy, so now with the EA thing, does EA own the Mass Effect IP? Was there any agreement between EA and Bioware to say that the Bioware guys are going to be the ones that do parts 2 and 3 or do EA have the right to now farm it out to the lowest bidder?
Also, another thing just out of curiosity, did they hit any technical problems fitting the game on the DVD for the 360? Epic and Ubisoft have both come out and openly admitted they've had problems fitting UT3 and Assassin's Creed respectively onto the 360's DVD, and Mass Effect looks like a pretty huge, high detail game, so just wondering if they hit similar problems or if its really not an issue. And if they did hit those issues, how did they solve them? What did they have to sacrifice? last edited by Khel at 14:02:23 15/Oct/07 |

Not really a Mass Effect question but will a sequel to Jade Empire be next on the cards for Bioware?
I'm wondering what kind of impact the pre-order package for Assassins Creed will have on Mass Effects opening sales. If you are into role playing games at all you'll eventually own and play both but one will have to come before the other and right now I have no reason to pre-order Mass Effect and every reason to pre-order Assassins Creed. |

have no reason to pre-order Mass Effect and every reason to pre-order Assassins Creed. Why not? The Mass Effect collector's edition looks better than the Assassin's Creed one anyway imo. Not that it matters to me, I've pre-ordered them both :P |

Ah so there is a special pre-order version of Mass Effect then? The site I ordered Assassins Creed from just had regular copies for pre-order and I haven't seen one around anywhere so I assumed they didn't release one.
I will definitely be getting both, they are the reason I own an xbox but I just didn't see the point in splashing out on both at once when it will probably be like a month before I get around to playing the second one. I guess I'll be pre-ordering Mass Effect too now though if I can find this special edition for pre-order somewhere. |

I actually prefer this concept over kotor (as much as i liked the 1st kotor) original IPs, to me, win over sequels and spin-offs.
Ask them if working on their own property has been easier or harder than working within the limitations, yet well established lore of the Star Wars Universe. |

Now that I've got a 360 I wouldn't mind playing this game although I still hate using a control pad. Wish they'd release an official keyboard and mouse for it.

Wish they'd release an official keyboard and mouse for it. its kind of silly expecting a console to have kb/mouse setup when traditionally they have always been controller based. i'd expect that you will just have to get use to working with a controller. |

Why is it silly? You can buy control pads for the PC.

I don't want an official keyboard and mouse, because that'll just encourage more companies to make console games that require a keyboard and mouse, and that'd just be s***. I got no room for a keyboard and mouse when I'm lounging back on my comfy chair playing some xbox!
Besides that, I can't think of a game on the 360 I'd want to play with a keyboard and mouse anyway. |

i found it extremely easy to get use to useing a controller for fps games on a console. in some cases i prefer it, eg playing portal on my 360 over playing it on pc.

Jesus f***ing christ. I swear to god we can't have one console-based thread without you pack of c***s coming in and s***ting it up with "OMG how do u play without mouse/kb!? CONSOLES ARE f***ING GAY!". We have had this bulls*** time and time again. When the f*** will people just start getting banned for derailing threads? This has gone from "Tell us what to ask the Mass Effect Devs!" to "CONSOLES ARE FOR f***ING HOMOSEXUALS BECAUSE THEY ARE BASED ON A DIFFERENT PERIPHERAL, MAN" in less than 30 posts. This is par for the course on QGL.
That said, to stay on f***ing topic, my question: It feels to me, by making a game based on "Exploring a massive RPG universe, having a rich storyline, hundreds of diverse worlds etc." is somewhat of a "dream game" for a lot of gamers. I know that the concept of something like that is something that has been mentioned in many gaming-based discussions I've had with people / on forums over the years. I'd like to know if the concept for the game was basically saying "f*** it, let's give them what they want!", and if so, will there be other such "dream-game" franchises made in the future? If that doesn't make sense, I apologise :) |
