Recoil = very f***ing lame Sight movement while running/walking = even f***ing lamer (garenteed to encourage camping) Other than that the MG on both teams kicks arse but it would be better if it took less time to set yourself up. |

mohaa rocks and so does dod beta2!! Never really got into dod previously but the new version got me interested and it has lived up to my expectations. Mohaa and dod have completetly different play styles, despite the ww2 theme, so just play which ever you prefer (or both) and dont start the arguments over which is better and why people are gay for preferring one or the other. Goddamn i love those mounted machineguns!! |

i think taipans critisism is valid, i havn't played it yet, but i didn't like it when they reduced movign accuracy in cs and i don't think i'm going to like it in dod either. it's a game remember, and i think it's silly to put so much emphasis on gun behaviour being realistic when a million other parts of the game are far from reaslism, the main objective should be maximum fun, and the more camping.. the less fun. but like i said, i havn'tplayed it yet, i was just making a general comment, because i'm sick of s***kunt campers saying "go back to quake" just because they have no skill. |

That depends on what the game is after Axis. If they are after realism, its not silly to add recoil.. |

I reckon a world war 2 games is pretty lacking without recoil and proper gun behaviour. Running and gunning is appropriate in many games, but DoD really shouldn't be one of them. Anyway, if you miss the old feel of beta 1.3, just use the M1 carbine, cause it's a lot like the old Garand. |

...and the more camping.. the less fun... campers add to the tension of the game. Each map is a warzone you're walking. Not really the sort of place that you need to be walking thru alone without your team on your back. There're lot's of good snipers out there these days. Bitching about them serving their team to the best of their ability sounds just naive. I'm aprehensive about running thru maps without another good player scanning the terain with me. Especially once we have the other team backed up to their spawn. These game are finally getting hard enough where a higher degree of teamwork is more than just 'a good idea'... it's damnwell neccessary. =) |

well as I remember one of the DoD team guys saying... if you thought running across an open area surrounded by sniper lofts was scary in 1.3 you won't dare do it in 2.0 The reason being they don't want any one-man Rambo's (me) capping all the flags in the map and unloading their garand into possible enemy locations, winning the entire game while the rest of the team run around like morons near their own spawn. The emphasis is on team-play. You can't claim a flag unless you really do control the territory around it. |

Goa'ld don't go tossing abuse at people when they haven't abused you or anyone else for that matter.Doing what you just did makes you look like a total f***ing idiot mind you looking at what alot of people here write about you you probably are. I personal don't like DOD2 it does look good but the changes to the weapons sux it's not as free flowing as it used to be because every prick camps because of the way the X-hair on the weapons wave around. I played DOD since the first week it was released and I much prefer the point and shoot way it used to be.Anyway I won't play DOD2 because of these little things nor will I lose any sleep over it. |

By the way I have never been a Quake player I was a CS player for a couple of years and a DOD and T2 player for the rest of the time. On the reality thing if you want reality play Ghost Reckon it pisses all over DOD in every posible way for reality.I enjoyed DOD very much I just feel the changes are way to redical it's gone from a fast paced point and shoot to a slow grined with a X-hair that is like a moth buzzing a light bulb. I do how ever realy like the MG's I think they are a great improvement to the game. |

Well you can claim a flag that you dont control...only problem is it wont last too long, and neither will you :p Its a great mod to play if your into the realism. If you are after fast paced fraggin, then i guess you wont like dod much. Fair enough, but if you just say it before you play it, then bite ur tounge. |

that ain't it Goa'uld. it's more the fact that oftentimes when you play on publics everyone is just running around doing their own thing, trying to climb up to high places, or just standing around (?). When you are in a clan, you KNOW that when you call for backup or whatever, they are going to help. You also know that they will inform you of what's going on, so you don't have to do the boring run, run, run, die, run, run, run, die process over and over again. |

I thought Ghost Recon didnt really 'feel' right. In a war, you would expect people to be running around, spraying bullets at thier opponents. In GR, you creep along, firing one or two rounds at each enemy. The AI does the same. Thsi seems wrong to me, I very much doubt any soldier would have the ridiculous accuracy they do in that game. Its basically a case of whoever spots the other first wins. I think the problem is that it used a revamped rainbow engine. This sort of setup may be fine for an indoor specal forces sim, but imo it doesnt work in Ghost's outdoor setting. I find the gameplay in stuff like dod to be more 'realistic', inasmuch as I can say so, having never been in a war. |

OK Moridin, but i think the reason GR is like that is because it's a game. I mean, think about it. If your first bullet didnt go where your crosshairs were pointing, imagine the complaints!!!! There just have to be allowances. Anyway, the reason why it's like that is because more often than not you sneak up on unsuspecting enemies, and pop them. Have you played GR multiplayer? You'll find that you can comfortably take someone down when you have the time to aim at them, but if not it is actually reasonably challenging. Perhaps you should try Operation Flashpoint, as imo it exceeds GR in all respects bar graphics (though it is a long way behind in this respect). This game has more challenging aiming eg, allowances for bullet travel time and drop over distance, wind shear, etc. etc. |

Ghost Recon is soooooo much more realistic is it Taipan? Especially how you cant jump right? Haha, you idiot. Do you think that guys wearing heavy armour and carrying weapons can jump? Also I think I either read in the Ghost Recon manual or in the actual Rainbow6 book that jumping isn't a used procedure or something. Ghost Recon IS realistic because you can't jump, you f***ing poof. |

Yeah, what I want in GR/OFP, hell all games, is the ability to climb. You should be able to scale things, get on roofs, climb up trees, whatever. Add so much depth to the gameplay. |

Being able to climb s*** would rock... But the game would have to have a stamina bar, and the bar would have to go down pretty quick while climbing otherside people would be just climbing all over the place and camping it up. |

The problem that some of the posters have with DoD v2 is that it is totaly different to DoD v1. DoD v1 was about Intensity, and action. Was it realistic? Only in the same sense that a action movie is realistic. Now what has essentialy been done to DoD. Well they made all of the weapons amazingly inaccurate compaired to previous versions. To the point of if I play I would bind that my natural mode is to crouch, Just like in CS. I consider myself very team focused. I don't care about personal scores (they should be removed)... I only care about one thing, winning. To win in team based games your entire team has to win. In games like tribes one or two awesome Light D can save your entire team of SKs ... likewise one or two awesome cappers can save your entire team of s*** Kunts and make a win (or at least save some face) Games that potray its s***ty physics as "realism" will never gain the intensity factor of being busy for the entire duration of the match with the constant backand forwards that fast games generate. I'm not saying that games like CS are s*** and not worth playing. I am saying however that just because people don't like slow campy "Lets all hold each others penises while standing back here" games doesn't mean that they can not play team based games. So to summerise. The biggest complaint is that change between dod1 and dod2 slows the game down to much for players that love intense action, and just because you love intense action games that doesn't make you any less of a team player. |

I'm in love with some of it. the single shot guns like the Light inf weapons and the Carbine just get me off. theres nothing more pleasing that owning some c*** at distance with a well placed shot to the throat... and the sounds that they have put in are f***ing awesome. makes it feel right to me. I dont really like any of the other guns tho :D too much recoil to be fun imo |
