Okay, heres an idea. How about at the next LAN, we could have some kind of hired tech support type person who can help out with any problems people might have?
You would obviously have to make sure they knew what they were doing (not 'faking it')
Perhaps he could bring spare network cards etc that you could sign out if yours was buggered. Youd have to show ID and write your name/address etc in case you try and nick it.
Anyway, obviously costs etc would have to be looked into as well.
Opinions?

The admins at QGL try to keep things running as smooth as they can, and there's a couple tecchies among them.

I myself bring extra network cards to QGL and also my expertise. If you have any problems, just ask me, the admins, or any other tech minded person there that looks like they have a clue.

hay i've got an idea as well, how about everyppl buys a puter that doesn't f*** up!!!

i had no probs...
there was a IP f*** up, but i had the brains to release and renew instead of screeching at an admin claiming you don't feel the event is worth your very prestige 20dollar!

Excuse me while I take offence...I spent over half an hour releasing and renewing at one point. No effect. In the end, the admins had to aasign me a random IP.

Ok, basic URL linkage stuff.

1. To start the link, enclose this in < at the front, and > at the end. Put this in between them
'a href="http://www.qgl.org/cluepon"' for instance. (without the single quotes)

2. After doing that, make sure that you type in the text you want the link to be.
for instance, NOT CLICKABLE, NOT APPLICABLE

3. And at the end, close off the HTML code with a '/a' enclosed in the same brackets as before.

So your final product should be
NOT CLICKABLE, NOT APPLICABLE

and remove the '' from the /a tag naturally.
