I have seen Windows XP in action and i must say it is pretty good even in BETA. Even though microsoft have those gay pics of it http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/guide/newlook.asp ) you can turn all that s*** off so it looks like windows 2k but it is better than 2k, it supports so much more and has some kewl new s*** in it. here are the system req for it by the way:3.1 Whistler Personal ====================================================================== CPU: Maximum number - 1 Minimum speed - 233 megahertz (MHz) Recommended speed - 300 MHz RAM: Minimum - 64 megabytes (MB) Maximum - 4 gigabytes (GB) Recommended - 128 MB Hard disk space: Minimum - 2 GB 3.2 Whistler Professional (32-Bit Edition and for Intel Itanium systems) ====================================================================== CPU: Maximum number - 2 Minimum CPU speed - 233 MHz Recommended CPU speed - 300 MHz RAM: Minimum - 64 MB Maximum - 4 GB Recommended - 128 MB Hard disk space: Minimum - 2 GB 3.3 Whistler Advanced Server (32-Bit Edition and for Intel Itanium systems) ====================================================================== CPU: Maximum number - 8 Minimum speed - 233 MHz Recommended CPU speed - 300 MHz RAM: Minimum - 128 MB Maximum - 8 GB Recommended - 256 MB Hard disk space: Minimum - 2 GB p.s sorry bout the hiuge post |

that huge chunky interface is the reason i didn't like win98 and why i went to 2k if they are bringing that back i don't want it and it doesn't support a lot of stuff yet |

I've said it before and I'll say it again - COMPUTERS ARE NOT APPLIANCES. This XP appears to be yet another attempt to turn the pc into an appliance type device. The easier PCs become the more idiots take up them as a hobby - which means more CS players. |

yer i am still as yet reluctant to load it onto my system for 1 reason: every SINGLE time Microsoft releases a new OS its riddled with bugs... I'll load a new OS on my system after say the fourth or fifth update pack has been released :) |

I guess you must be using NT4 SP7 then, since no other MS operating system has had that many service releases. |

nar Nats, it was a bit of a joke man. They release a COMPLETELY BUGGY version of it which costs u money. Then they will release a service release which will cos u MORE money... it just smells like a scam to me |

Microsoft service packs don't cost anything (unless you count data costs downloading them). |

trog, I think what Pharcyde is talking about is releasing win98, then win98SE. Whistler looks pretty sweet to me, and seeing as the Pro version looks like it doesn't have that ghey activation crap everyone should be able to Oh well |
