It seems the massive UK based Gameplay.com is in a spot of trouble after first last month sheading 300 staff, in order to start making money, now this month they have reportedly lost a large funding deal from the networking giant, Cisco:

Even though negotiations were reportedly at an "advanced stage", sources close to the companies claim Cisco was annoyed that news of the possible investment leaked out and appeared in the press.

Though with some of the technology that Gameplay can boast about in its stable, I'm sure that funding from another source wont be too far away. Check out the article.
