Ok my fellow news posters, lets start the day off with some local news, then move into somthing that you can all spend your day checking out :)

Ausfortress.com the new massivly successful Australian Site devoted to all things fortress related, have done an interview with Fluffy_gimp, one of the developers on the Q3F project. The article even includes some as yet unseen models that he is currently working on for beta2:

Care to elaborate on any of the changes mentioned? I'm interested to hear about the new menu system for starters.

Menu systems in games on the whole are in my view always half-arsed implementations, and no real thought or creativity goes into their design. We’ve spent a long time at looking at what people want in a Front End and HUD. The front end for Quake3 has a lot of potential given the features of the engine, so we’ve tried to exploit some that for beta 2. The new HUD is something that a great deal of thought has gone into, we’ve yet to officially release shots of it yet, but what I can tell you is that it is a vast improvement on the existing one not only in terms of graphics but also in terms of cool features. I don’t really want to give too much away at this stage, but I can honestly say that you’ll be quietly impressed with what we’ve come up with.
