My grandson is thirteen years old and lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

He has saved up $1,500 and wants to but the best gaming computer and monitor he can get.

Can anyone tell me what is the best gaming system he can get for that amount of money?

He has asked his Grandad to help him find one but, what do I know!
Can anyone help us please.

Hey Noxie,

That's always a tough one, but many suppliers like Mwave, PC Case Gear, and Centrecom offer prebuilt gaming PCs

Like this: https://www.centrecom.com.au/centre-com-karuza-k5-1660-gaming-system as an example
or this entry level gaming rig: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/51627/pccg-hellfire-570-gaming-system

A good thing to note is that gaming PC is a lot more powerful than a regular desktop, hence the cost. So something built for gaming is what you're after, the only problem is most of these systems do not come with monitors

A display like this is what you'd be looking for: https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-g27f-27-ips-fhd-144hz-freesync-g-sync-gaming-monitor

Budgets are obviously the barrier, but between $1500-$2000 will ensure he can get a pretty great package.

If there's a local PC store they should be able to do a deal if you buy the PC, Monitor, and peripherals (keyboard and mouse) in one go

The main think to look out for is that you're getting a decent graphics card, 16Gb of system memory, and a SSD hard-drive in the build.

Hey Noxie which city/state are you in? Edit: oh NZ derp. Where are you in NZ?

I recommend for a newbie, getting a PC from a reputable local small business. They need to stand by their product and give you the customer service. They will also be very helpful in designing a build to meet your budget.
