So it turns out that an innocent enough statement of "cross-platform play" in the "Capabilities" sub of the Microsoft Game Store installment for Borderlands 3 has now set the Internet on fire. The statement looks to have since been removed, with 2K replying to a probe from IGN that "cross play is something we’re looking at closely, but don’t have anything to confirm or announce at this time". Boo. However, we can probably assume this is actually going to be the case, whether it's Xbox One to PC, alone, or across all systems, the world of cross-platform play is opening up and there's literally no real technological barrier any more for platforms to hide behind (looking at you, Sony). And as one of the more popular co-op games out there, with a vibrant history, it makes sense that this will be a thing. So, here's hoping.
