One of the stand-out titles from E3 this year was a little indie game called The Last Night. And what left such a huge impression on audiences the world over was that it's pixel-art felt alive, thanks to advanced lighting and true 3D depth. That, and the cyberpunk look that was one part Blade Runner, another part Ghost in the Shell, with a dash of PC classic Flashback. IGN has posted a new video with developer Tim Soret breaking down the real-time trailer that made its debut on the Xbox stage. It's a fascinating look at the creation of not only an impressive demo but the creative process overall - with The Last Night beginning its like as the winner of a week-long game jam before a small team began working on the version we see today. |
