Topic: The Original Mafia Re-Released on GOG, But at a Price

And no that's not in reference to the somewhat reasonable $14.99 price tag. But instead in reference to the licensed music in the game which is nowhere to be found in this DRM-free re-release of the 2002 organised crime adventure Mafia. Which means driving around, and obeying the speed laws in cool 1930s era vehicles, with no pop music from that era. But, there is a fix.

The licensed music was one the cool things about the original Mafia that set the tone for the period and the open-world Mafioso adventures of Tommy Angelo. I mean, if you've played the game then this will immediately bring back memories.

Hearing the above and the rest of those 1920s and 30s songs meant that musically Mafia was one of the most interesting PC games of its era. And so, fans have provided a handy tutorial for those with a copy of the original CD release, or now defunct Steam version, to restore the music. Also, a handy download link for those that don't have the above. And thankfully, it's as simple as copy-paste.

Mafia is available now, via GOG. And click here for the tutorial on how to restore the original music.
