Which means our man, B.J. Blazkowicz, begins the game injured and wheelchair bound. How does this affect the gameplay? Well, not as drastically as you might think. In a new behind the scenes video called 'America Under Siege' the team at MachineGames sets the scene for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus as we get to see plenty of new footage from the game. Including wheelchair-bound B.J. shooting a few Nazis.

“The New Colossus is a direct sequel,” says Creative Director Jens Matthies. “It picks up immediately where the last one left off. We've constructed the game in a way that new players will catch up quickly and get what the game is about. For returning players, of course, they will know all of the backstory.”

“Even though BJ is severely injured and broken, you never break him mentally,” says Executive Producer Jerk Gustafsson. “For me, BJ is that strong, quiet guy. That blue-collar guy who gets things done.”

So yeah it looks like B.J. gets a new metallic body in the game, giving him the ability to walk, run, and probably crush a few Nazi skulls. And with the new setting of America under Nazi rule, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus could quite easily top the insanity and fun of the original. From gators in the deep south to the desert setting of Roswell.

“We've been in Europe, we've seen what happened, now we're taking it to America,” says Senior Game Designer Arcade Berg. “You get to see that brutal Nazi version of the American diner. It's such a fun theme to explore, both as a developer and as a player.”

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has a release date of October 27 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
