Fidget Spinners are becoming a bit of fad.
Got one yesterday and a couple for my Nieces
They are $10 and you can find them online but I got them from a stall at Chermside, which was swamped by people. They were selling prolly ten or more a minute.

You may need to get a tissue and wipe away some oily residue when you take them out of the packaging. Prolly a good idea before giving them to young kids.

I must be old, cos I don't get it. The 'tricks' don't seem particularly interesting if the depth of variation goes from "spin it on the table" to "spin it between your fingers"

The percentage profit of on one of these at $10 is about 500%

With a 3D printer and the bearings from an old skateboard or roller skates from an op shop, you can easily make as many as you'll ever need

i find it bizarre really, you can't do anything with them really

at least with a yoyo there is tricks to learn and get better at it or cards or any type there is swapping, collecting and competition(depending on what cards)

there has been a million different fads over the years, i even remember those little 2 finger slidey skateboard things that were a fad, the goal was to get better at it

this is just.. spin it....

They were designed for kids with adhd and aspergers or something, hence spook getting some.

You know, I get some of the fads, like pokemons cards, that was a competitive game, kids also learned basic trade and commerce skills swapping them with each other.

I got the nurf whistle football thing, that was cool.

I don't get this at all. It's literally a thing you spin around. You can't trade it, you can't throw it too a buddy, you can't play a game with it, you can't do anything except spin it in a circle.

How does it look when all the cool kids are playing with this, do they just stand around and spin it? Dads, can you answer what kids do with these?

They are an aid for kids with issues. Not recommended for kids without issues.

None in this house.

A good cheap toy in an out of fashion are Bey Blades... they are actually fun.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/L-Drago-Destroy-F-S-Beyblade-BB108-4D-Top-Metal-Fusion-Fight-Master-w-Launcher-/391743747487?var=&hash=item5b35bf359f:m:mc9leQ8_I09-Gf5Kbq5M8Og

Cheap, you buy about 6 and the kids pull them apart and swap parts, and have spinning top wars on a serving platter "arena". There is a cartoon show about it too.

Get some Bey Blades for your mum's. They will love em too!

I formally feel old now... First, I seem to dislike new games because old ones in almost all cases seemed to 'do it better' and now this...

Its almost like something dreamt up in an Episode of South Park... I LOVE the part in OPs video where the guy almost couldn't sound any less interested in the product; and at one point seems almost dead inside as it's spinning toward the middle of the video (He's just on camera, looking at it, wishing he was anywhere but there staring at it)

I might go pick up a 'decent' Yo-yo.... any recommendations from the crowd?

It doesn't make me feel old, it makes me feel not stupid

I just don't see how it is a fad, compared to other fads as mentioned in mine and other posts

Don't own one of these, but if you've ever held a spinning thing like this you'll know the centripetal force makes it all freaky.

Might buy.

Was a stall in DFO airport yesterday selling them, she wanted $12 for the basic course ones and $20 a pop for the "elite" skinned ones. Laughed and showed her eBay, she said they were "inferior" knockoffs and you wouldn't get the better spinning mechanic like her ones.

Yeah sure lady, you've got the best spinning wheels the market has seen.

I spent $10 the other day on something to fidget with too. You can do tonnes of cool looking tricks with it and practise for hours and hours, theres really no end to what you can do. You can even throw them and spin them!

I got a couple more Spinners yesterday from Toombul.
These ones are a little heavier and dont have bearings in the three edges.
They didnt spin too good out of the box so i hit them with some CRC which worked well. They dont spin for as long though.

Lol i Have 5 now, still havent given any to the Girls.
