When you look at most special or collector edition packages for a video game, the price range is around $100-$200 and includes a variety of in-game bonuses and physical items to help satisfy the price. Grid 2 developer Codemaster thinks this is small talk compared to their collector's edition, titled "Mono Edition" and running at a cool price tag of £125,000 or roughly AUD$193,409. Included in this world record price tag is not only the game, a PlayStation 3 to play it on but an actual full size 170 m.p.h. BAC Mono supercar specially outfitted with a Grid 2 paint job. Not only are you getting a working car to help increase the simulation experience, you are also given a full race suit, boots and gloves all made to measure in BAC Mono and GRID 2 branding. The BAC Mono is a British manufactured, road-legal, ultra-high performance supercar which stars in the game. Created from high-strength carbon fibre, the BAC Mono is an unrivalled example of light-weight performance engineering and its 2.3 litre, 280 bhp four cylinder power plant will propel its driver from 0-60 m.p.h. in just 2.8 seconds. As you would expect, the GRID 2: Mono Edition has set a new Guinness World Records title for the “Most Expensive Video Game Commercially Available – Special Edition”. According to the press release it is only available to pre-order at game.co.uk, with only one copy of the edition available. Oddly enough the website actually says that the copy is now out of stock, so somewhere in the world someone has already paid for this quite extraordinary edition in the little time that it has been available. |

I wonder if Codemasters built lag into the car so it behaves like their games engine. |

Seems a bit backwards to me. Introducing the new special edition MOMO steering wheel for $500,000. It comes with a Ferrari attached to it. |

haha that's f***ing awesome, well done code masters.. I would instantly respray the car and never wear the apparel.
Shame they only did one copy, they would have easily sold more. |
