folk in perth or adelaide have a chance to see (with binoculars) 2012 da14 as it passes within 28000klms of earth on saturday the 16th of feb. 2013. nasa estimate the asteroid is around 50metres in diameter & will pass inside some artificial satellite orbits. it's pass by earth will change the asteroids orbit & possibly drop it's orbital radius so that it is between the earth & the sun. it's orbital period is very close to an earth year & for an asteroid it's orbit is quite circular.

Does this meteor shower in Russia have anything to do with the asteroid? That would be extremely frighting just seeing a trail of smoke, would think it was a nuke or something.
