FIrst off, not that I think it fits into this suggested catogery, here is my latest piece of music, freshly finished: Over the weekend, while I was at the snow, a mate introduced me to "The XX", who are a pommy indie alternative band. I felt kind of sad that I had not heard of them before because they are absolutely amazing. Turns out they are pretty big anyway, but thats not the point. What music/artists do you listen to that you think are worthy of more attention? I love this aussie rapper atm, I thought he was too good to be aussie at first. |

They were the guests DJs on RAGE last weekend and of what I saw only put on electronic stuff like Delerium - Silence, Olive - You're Not Alone and Ann Lee - Two Times. |

My mum teaches Persian and Iraqi asylum seekers literacy and got me to get some music for a party they're having:
The Iranians refer to themselves as Persians because they all hate Assad's regime and Iran was called Persia before they took over from the Shah in the '70s. |

Violet Journey, a freaking awesome guitar track by Orianthi.
South African kwaito musician 'Mandoza', which I'm confident few here would have heard of: Here's another pretty cool guitar track by Dave Stewart featuring Orianthi - Girl in a Catsuit. I don't expect a lot of people on QGL to be in to classical piano, but there's a reason this Clayderman video has almost 8 million views. And lastly, the last 20 years or so of music in the opening ceremonies for the Olympic games have been rather underwhelming, so here's a tribute to Freddie, with Montserrat Cabelle, for all you Queen "fans" who have only ever heard of "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We are the champions" and "We will rock you". last edited by Raven at 10:45:57 14/Sep/12 |
