Hello all,

Formula one 2010 has been released ( yay ) I took the option of downloading the game on Steam at a pre release discount of 10% $ 53.00 the game is now back at full price $59.00 on Steam. First impressions are all good if you liked Dirt 1,2 Grid and the likes ( most codemasters games)it has a similar setup. I'm using my G25 Logitech wheel and Pedals in career mode this was very easy to set up, just for a blast i used the keyboard doing some random time trials and was surprised at how good the keyboard option performed, so those who dont have the high end wheels should not be put off buying this title.

The game has a great feel( very much like GP3,GP4) and the car set ups are easy to use with a quick setup and an advanced set up for those who feel a bit adventurous, graphic options are huge depending on your video card the tracks and other cars look amazing in ultra detail. This is a full sim racing game with full race rules and conditions you can kill your engine and gearbox from over heating or just over reving on down changes, the AI is fantasic and all the F1 drivers are included ( I just ran Sebastian vettle off the road on purpose and received a warning from race control ) You will need windows live to save any progress through the game but you get rewards( Whoopee) for completing races and beating the objectives set for you before all races,8/10 from me i will be playing this for a long time. Any of our budding petrol heads playing this yet ??

I am so keen on trying this, just have to wait till I have a real net connection after changing houses to grab the files.

Am also considering getting one of the cockpit scenarios from http://www.pagnianimports.com.au/

Yeah I've been giving it a trundle this week, albeit keyboard only. Agreed that you can still be highly competitive on the old clacker.

I must say I'm quite impressed with the overall game. Graphics and sound are tops but also the rule enforcementmis very good. I found that you could throw it down the inside and clip the guy in front, warning/penalty. However, repeat the same, don't touch and then touch on exit, then rubbing is racing.

Whilst bad for the engine, it sounds wicked revving out each gear.

Saw it for $68 at Harvey Norman - almost bought it but then realized I don't really have a wheel I can use.
For now I'll just stick with Civ5.

I'm willing to pitch in some money if someone is buying one of the pagnianimports cockpits, if i can get the full measurements of angles, bends and lengths. So I can make my own.

Defs the best arcade F1 game since GP4. Career mode adds a lot also.

Hey Guys

We are now located in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, feel free to drop past and try out our simulators setup with F1 on PS3. F1 to me is definately the most realistic game on PS3 with a simulator. We also have the Fanatec gear setup with our simulators for those who have only tried Logitech wheels and are wandering what it feels like to race using Fanatec gear... =)

Cheers

I'm thinking of getting a Fanatec for the Xbox 360, don't suppose you have one set up with Forza 3?

I think 360 only supports the microsoft wheels doesn't it? i know the g25/g27 don't work on it.

They have Fanetec specifically for the Xbox 360/PC also. The Microsoft one I tried was awful, felt like it was driving with a rubber band, that was a few years ago however they might have new ones out, but yea the Fanatec one is supposedly the s*** since there's no logi G25/27's for the the console :(

We did have a shipment of the Fanatec turbo S wheel(PC/PS3/360) packages a couple months back but sold out of them. It included the Turbo S wheel, gear shifters and Clubsport pedals, the package was $799 due to the high costs involved in getting them to Australia (We are the only company that's managed to ever get them into Oz).

Compared to the Microsoft wheels they are amazing and can't even be compared, but the 911 GT3 V2 wheel is the best Fanatec wheel available, unfortunately it's only compatible with PC / PS3.
