Steve and Dan just finished at a special Microsoft event at E3 showing off the new Xbox 360. They actually got to check out the finished product complete in box form, so they've whipped up a quick unbox video giving you a tour of this shiny new black version that has been unveiled today. Download or stream it now directly from AusGamers! |

Man, E3 must have been pretty boring if this is a highlight. It's "new" because it has a bigger hard drive and wifi? I can't even buy a hard drive that small for my computer down at the local computer store (dead serious) and built in wifi should have been there from the get-go (I've seen friends who've bought huge ethernet cables plus links just to hook their bloody 360 to the internet!). I'm going to go install a new hard drive and a wifi network card in my computer and and see if I can make it to E3 in time to unveil it to the world! |

The GPU and CPU have been combined on a single chip which means cooler boards and cheaper manufacturing. Also the Natal (Kinect) will be powered by USB for this model of the console while older models will require a power cord. The only downside is the HDD has been changed so Xbox 360's HDD can't plug into Xbox 360S because of the new design. This is a smart move from MS (Similar to Sony's PS3 Slim) adding some extra features and making it overall quieter/economical thereby extending the life of this generation. |

Funniest part about this was (unfortunately after we'd shutdown the camera and been asked to wrap up and pack up) was Steve went to stand it up sideways while the disc was still reading and it made the old familiar scraaaaape sound, it was so loud and I don't think anyone is going to be playing through that copy of Alan Wake again. In short, the disc scratching issue has not been resolved. It definitely runs heaps quieter though, in terms of both case fans and optical drive noise. |

In short, the disc scratching issue has not been resolved. I get that maybe the general public may not know it, but isn't it common sense not to move a disc reader while a disc is in it.. like didn't old cd players have warnings to that effect on it ect, |

It's EB, over charging and ripping off customers is part of their policy. |

It's pretty bloody retarded to move any sort of disc-reader while it's doing it's thing, though. |

I dunno what the price of an Xbox is face but just cuz some guy in the states says it will be the same price does not mean it will be so in Aus, just look at our current pricing for gaming related s***. |

I'm pretty sure Sony went from a console that is glossy and has touch sensitive buttons to a matte console with actual buttons lol... Also what's with all this f***ing rehashing, give me a new f***ing console! graphics on current gen consoles are s*** :( |
