So this came out today and been playing it about 2 or so hours so far. Love it. It fixes a few things I had issues with on the 1st one.

Being able to only have a weapon or plasmid out
Not being able to care for a little sister
Hacking was too damn easy

It's so damn adorable to have a little sister ride on your shoulder as you attack things and hearing her say "daddy's mad now" and quotes like that. Having to guard her while she does her thing with a corpse is also pretty neat as I feel like she depends on me rather than just a mechanic in the game. When people get near her while she's doing this she calls out to you calling you daddy, which usually makes me angry that they are annoying her so it's great to bring out your drill and f*** them up hardcore.

Speaking of which, That s*** is awesome. I always felt the wrench was rather pathetic in #1 and kinda useless. Even though i've gotten a bunch of weapons I still find myself cracking people over the head with it, considering it does like 50% - 100% of their life in damage. Being able to use a weapon or a plasmid without changing weapons is such a huge bonus that it's crazy. So far i'm loving this game as unlike the first one, this seems to be actually hard. I'm only playing on medium but geez i've had to be much more careful than I usually am in FPS games. The splicers are accurate, quite strong and pretty fast too. The game also no longer pauses when you hack, so it's more dangerous to try and do so now which is a great thing. Anyway i'm going back ingame now.

Not sure havn't tried it yet. I wanna finish single player before I try it

EDIT - I just electrocuted a splicer while I had a little sister on my shoulder and she said "he's dancing daddy!" which I had a laugh at.

So do you actually get to drill people, like does it actually act like a drill and drill through people, or is it just a melee weapon that you bash people with that happens to be shaped like a drill?

Oh no... you get to drill them. Stab it right into them and blood goes everywhere.

DM when you played Bioshock 1 what difficulty setting was it on? I played on the hardest first go and I found hacking to be difficult (required constant upgrading so it doesn't become impossible which sometimes happened) and I never really used the wrench because while it was strong the enemies could really hurt you.

p.s As a side note I never used the vita chambers, not even once.

Well granted I didn't play on the hardest difficulty in #1 but I found hacking to be more of a "open every single panel quick as possible" type thing where you just needed to find the right tubes. Hacking now is more of a timing based thing which gets progressivly faster on more difficult hacks.

As for the vita chamber i've already had to use them 2 times as I got ambushed haha.

In a game where you can save at any point I found the vita chambers fairly useless.

You can disable them in the second one straight off the bat.

Here's one thing that doesn't make sense though:

Rapture is under the ocean, right. So, why is everything made out of timber?

because rapture is UNDERWATER. you do realise wood probably will not stand the amount of pressure being exerted against it? not only that it's not water proof. the ships of the past had pumps that were constantly manned so that the ship doesn't sink.

I reckon he probably built it on the surface, then sunk it. Or something.

But timber floats in water...and you know what else floats in water? A Duck!

Logically, if Rapture weighs the same as a duck and burns like wood then the city's inhabited by witches.

they must be magic glass and metal....or are you playing as a complete nutter thinking this is all real and turn out he's just got this all in his head?

Well if you wanna go all scientific, the weight of the city would have to outweight the buoyancy of the air, which would be pretty considerable.

In a game where you can save at any point I found the vita chambers fairly useless.

This. I think I got out of one once.
