f***in win. Face Hugger sold me. Also why is the PC version cheaper than the console versions? That seems to be happening a lot these days

I will probably go with with the Indian or Thai Edition for under $30.

Console versions more popular? More money to be made.

More like Sony/MS trying making $$ back on the consoles which sell at below cost.

Uh: # 4 x Exclusive multiplayer maps

That is complete and utter epic fail. There's almost no better way to make sure multiplayer in your game really sucks out of the box than to provide an experience that immediately splits your player base into two distinct groups.

splits your player base into two distinct groups.

It sure does, "Tight asses" and "f***ing sweet ass cainers". Which group are YOU apart of, trog?

I'm in the group that runs servers and gets to listen to each of those two groups complaining that they don't have enough servers for their particular game type, and then stares at player counts and carefully observes that they are mostly zero because there is never enough people from one of those groups to kick off a real game.

What's happening with this game anyway? Are aussies getting a toned down version or are they just not going to sell it on the shelf in .au?

Which is why I doubt they will be exclusive for long after release. Despite how awesome Steam is I think it's digital distribution that is fuelling this tendency for developers to portion up their game digitally for special editions rather than simply give us a making of DVD or art book, a tin box, a figurine and a map/poster/book. Hopefully when they get used to it they will start making an actual effort by creating content specifically for it rather than cutting out parts of the game and giving it back to us for an extra 20 bucks.

Can't say I'm a fan of these pseudo special editions. It seems completely pointless to pay extra simply for a tin you will never see again after installing and 4 multi-player maps no one will be using.

I got no probs with special editions at all - as long as there's nothing special about the game. There are soooo many cool things they could add into a special edition version of the game (like an AWESOME FACE HUGGER) that changing the actual contents of the game - PARTICULARLY in the multiplayer component - seems really silly.

4 extra maps? How the f*** do they control this on PC?

Will be buying on steam so I doubt they will have face hugger edition.

I'm not talking about the actual special edition, that looks pretty cool. I'm talking about the I-can't-believe-it's-not-butter special edition in the middle. It seems more to be the full game in a tin box then a special edition and the normal edition seems to be a stripped down version in normal packaging.

I may buy this, if so it will be from Steam ... UK or US, no doubt it will be stupidly marked up for Australia for no apparent reason.

To me, a special edition or collector's edition should be extras that have nothing to do with game content. A shirt, mug, art book, music OST, postcards, portable speakers, mask... those types of things are what makes a special edition. Giving people extra in-game maps is bulls*** and unfair to people who may have a limited budget for games.

The aliens v Predator game where you could co-op to hold the bunker getting smashed by aliens was the best s*** ever, and this new one has alot to live up to and i will be buying the Hunter edition ( f*** yer a face hugger).

Are we talking 1:1 scale face hugger or some tiny little model? Cos I'm not so interested in a tiny little model, but a full blown replica facehugger, f*** yeah, bring that s*** on.

I agree that including multiplayer maps as part of a collectors edition is pretty dongs. Single player content or non-game changing items are good. Fragmenting your multiplayer community is always a terrible idea no matter what causes it. Don't people learn??

@ Trog about dedicated servers from other thread - Where is the evidence?

Despite rumours, Rebellion has always been planning to support dedicated servers for AvP PC and we can now officially confirm that this is the case. Rebellion has always appreciated fan support. We're really looking forward to the release of AvP as much as you guys are!

Give it time AvP might turn out to be cool. Someone hacked into the demo and found it to be 10 months old.
