I just got win 7 ultimate and I'm testing it out on a POS test box and so far I'm pretty happy with it except that it does not support the onboard video of this s***box due to a lack of drivers (ive tried everything trust me googled it for hours). So I'm just wondering if anyone here has a old PCI card laying around collecting dust just so i can make things look half decent and watch videos without glitching.

Out of interest why win7 on a pos system why not wepos or sim. Or you referring to Piece Of s***, as opposed to point of sale

why would he want to watch videos on a cash register When i use to install touch screen POS in hotels. I always had to disable everything relating to windows desktop so if the staff managed to minimise the POS program they could not do anything like browse the internet. I had to fix one slow POS unit once when I checked the web browsing history and found the staff member had gone on a late night porn surfing sesh. They usually get internet on their network because the useless hotels use to share their internet accross the one network they had. |

Haha Tiny. If I wanted to be that tight I'd just run a whitelist. Heaps of commercial companies with the internet do this. Angus & Robertson, for example - the best you can access online from their terminals is the Amazon website :-))) |

It just so happens I am deploying a couple of wepos terminals at the moment, swapping out s***ty javalins to FIRICH VOUGE terminals (not the greatest fan but anyway) at least the unit has a cast al chassis, I'm waiting though for the s***ty proprietary lpt adapter port to get broken.
Also the till kickers are f***ed because someone decided to beerify the psu's so swapping out the electrics has been a pain in the arse when they have custom size drawers, seriously who in the f*** uses 350mm wide drawers. I would have preferred to put in a couple of cheap arse drawers and be done with it but... anyway. Also had the pleasure of destroying a posiflex drawer who some dips*** glued shut (diff client).... yes glued shut, so smashing that f***er open was fun and added a crowbar to my toolbox. Back to the op, I've got some s3 cards if your really keen you can pay postage but don't expect them before the 7-10th of jan, post office hit its cut point for oe deliveries last edited by HerbalLizard at 10:58:01 17/Dec/09 last edited by HerbalLizard at 10:58:56 17/Dec/09 |
