So I'm sure everyone here is a member of another forum as well. I come to QGL for the bunch of personalities and the free speech. Sure i'm not allowed to go mental, but it's pretty darn free for most intents and purposes. I'm a member of another forum and whilst largely a technical forum, even in the pub section you still get reprimanded for having an opinion different to the crowd. If that were the case in life, i would have been locked up long ago. And thats why i love QGL, i can just come on, say my opinion, factual or not, and people will either laugh or ignore and no-one will get upset.

Haha, yeah, I hate over-moderated forums. The one I run I don't think we've banned anyone unless they asked to be. The community can normally sort out a d******* on it's own IMO.

Hah yeah, I was one of them. All we had without tunnels was Gamearena and for a while Wikipedia. Was fun reading all the kids bitch about Telstra workers spending all their time on GA and not fixing their ADSL or something.

The one thing that ruins most forums is moderation. And yes, OCAU is moderated by a bunch of clowns.
Whirlpool and QGL though are just inconsistent and the mods don't talk to each other :)

I'm a member of a complete no rules forum (only things banned are criminal and pedo) and it's shocking... new members make their first post and it's just an onslaught of scat.

I'm not a member of any strict forums, they can f*** themselves, only exception is dropzone.com where the mods rule with an iron fist but only because misinformation has and continues to kill various members that come to post.

The only other games forum I frequent is the somethingawful games forum because threads for games are generally packed full of information and the quality of the threads is pretty decent.

I also run my own forum which has a games subsection, but its mainly just close friends that post there so its pretty cool.
