i got a link from my work IT man that allows me to access work stuff via citrix from home PC. it installed a few things and set some policies to accept however since installing this i get the following error msg when trying to open a link from an email in outlook 2003. using IE8. "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" a bit of googleing shows me this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278839 so i'm assuming these group policies are the issue, but i can't find where these polices are or how to change them? all help appreciated.... cheers |

jesus, do my users ask on public forums for help like this instead of just ringing my 1300 number?
crazymorton the reason why "windows cannot find gpedit.msc etc etc" is prolly because you're not supposed to be touching that stuff. if the dude has set it up properly, it's been titty-trapped in the hope that the user will be dumb enough to have a 3rd party come in, and break it. do what your nda says and just pay for tech support eh |

Dork, its on his home PC, not his work SOE. |

Um koopz.....an NDA is a NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. Why would it say you have to use tech support. Thats not what an NDA is for.
He cant get to GPEDIT because Windows XP HOME does not have it installed. Thank microsoft :) and its friday night, maybe IT staff have gone home for the weekend and he wants to try and get it going. You need a holiday to vent that stress and angst of yours :P |

Ran into something similar a while ago at work.
From what I can remember of how I fixed it was to: Delete the addons it installs from the browser, Download the client software again and run it. For the record, they weren't using IE8 so milage may vary. |

i'm glad you guys picked up on koopz cause i had no f***in idea what he was on about! dude if you can supply a link to a permanent/freely available version of citrix I'm happy to change my stance on the subject. either way, it sounds like you got yourself into something that's over your head, and where remote access is allowed into an employee's home, and NDA is usually accompanied. ffS don't bite my head off if your company's head of IT is just the local computer guy from the Yellow Pages who just works by the hour and doesn't give two s***s about your network last edited by koopz at 22:26:59 24/Jul/09 |

i get the following error msg when trying to open a link from an email in outlook 2003 also try deleting your extend.dat while you have outlook closed and then let it rebuild itself on it's next startup. Makes me wonder how much in common steam (clientregistry.blob) has with outlook (extend.dat) |
