Sorry if repost, Windows 7 thread reminded me that I got this in my mailbox couple days ago:
Windows 7 Release Candidate If you're thinking about giving this a burl before the official launch (and putting off buying it for an extra six months freebie action until the crippleware kicks in come March) you probably want to get your RC download organised soon. As the email says you don't need to install it now but unless you have a friend with the ISO it will be harder to get in a few weeks time. |

Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 are both RTM. Technet/MSDN can download it on August 7th.

I guess mass was referring to the fact that alot of people on here would have access to technet and/or msdn.

mk, yeah i did mean build number. i was hoping theyd be nice and give everyone a newer version, although i havent had any dramas at all with 7100 on a couple of machines so far.
i suppose my ssd could perform better by default. im too lazy to tune it |

Relevance to OP? Approaching zero Gee lets see.....you're talking about downloading Windows 7 RC......I posted that a newer version will be available to download, not much of a leap. |

Gee lets see.....you're talking about downloading Windows 7 RC......I posted that a newer version will be available to download, not much of a leap. Available to technet or MSDN subscribers, the RC is public. OP was about the availability of the RC narrowing so that people could schedule the download intoo their cap while its available. The people that this would matter to are very unlikely to have an MSDN sub. I think you were just waving your membership around. |

Not waving anything around......just pointing out that it is available. There was a code floating around to get technet plus subcription for $320 (there's a thread on it over at www.xpmediacentre.com.au, normal price is around $500. Technet is open to everyone, if you like testing out all the latest and greatest Microsoft wares then its worth the money, any if you work in the industry then its a tax deduction.

^^Don't you also get access to other stuff like office or am I dreaming?
P.S. A company should pay you to beta test their software, not the other way round. |
