Aussies bowlers are taking a bit of stick 0-80 off 20 overs.

Dam 0-134 32 overs.

Yeah we aren't looking good :(

A few quick wickets should sort it out.

I am off there for day 3/4, fingers crossed this s*** improves!

Trust me to unload a truckload of insults at about a million pommy mates after the first test. I knew it wasn't a good idea when it was coming out of my mouth.

It was a really bad time to get them all out, the ball is swinging like crazy... not a good time for a top order to face, I say they should have reversed the batting order! You know what they say, if you're actually getting the edge it shows you're a better batsman than the one that misses the edge completely. The logic is flawless!

England to win.

70 to avoid the follow on.
If the conditions are the same England will prolly ask Aussies to follow on.
England need to win more than Aussies and i doubt they will risk a draw.

England are 6-311 521 in front with 2 days to play.
The next 2 days are likely to be some light showers and overcast.
Great weather for swing bowling.
This could be the heaviest defeat for the Aussies in a long time.

how does a team go from 6/600 to 6/139 in 7 days ?

By playing on a totally different pitch against a team that isn't playing to draw?

Pup scored a great century and Haddin is on track for a ton, tomorrow's play could be awesome!!!

Spewing I came back to Ireland, would have loved to be there tomorrow when we win!!

It would makeup for the draw in the last game if we pulled this off.

Really really hope the Aussies can battle through, I almost feel like holding out for a draw would be worse than losing after the s***ty result of the first test. There is something so unsatisfying about draws that only dreary ass nations like England can get excited about.

Outcomes aside, some pretty good stuff in this test, unlike the first one - freddy and hauritz playing on with injuries and performing, michael clark performing well enough to allow us to forget he's a bit of a dillweed, pitch actually doing something other than sucking all the excitement out of the game etc etc

Watching SBS coverage last night instead of foxtel, stuart mcgill is a real huge tool :O

McGill really is, hey? Rumours have crept back even to my amateur cricket club that he's a tosser. Now watching him on SBS I don't doubt for a minute that the rumours are true.

200 is tough on the last day of a test match.
4 wickets in hand ? no chance.
Pommy bowlers seem to lack concentration and drift off at times.
Couple of Guzunders tonight and it will be over.
Not a fan of Clarke but thats easily his best knock under pressure.

Some very poor decisions last night.
Rudi Koretzen has made some shockers last few years. I cant believe there is not enough quality Umpires out there. Pay them more Train them more.

I really think the major problem is the No Ball Law.
The front Foot Law forces the Umpire to watch the foot then look up and make a decision in an instant. The Backfoot Law gave Umpires more time to prepare for the delivery.

I cant believe the inconsistency with the referral to the third umpire, absolute disgrace.

The odds are certainly against it, hang in boys and lets stick it up those fkhead poms.

ps Flintoff was limping a fair bit yesterday. Without him firing, the Poms attack looks mediocre at best

200 isn't THAT tough on the last day of a test match, especially when (these days) pitches don't do a lot.

IF its a true 5th day wicket, where s*** is happening all over the place, then yes - it will be very tough, but Lords pitches aren't exactly known for turn.

I think its do-able, but they need to hold their wickets until at least lunch.

atleast when they refer to the 3rd ump, he gets it right

they need at least another 100 from this pair, then an awesome performance from johnson, which he is capable of, it would have to be the best innings he has ever played.

Its all possible, but could so easily be all over in 5 mins, haddin or clarke out early, then johnson goes down, and its all over from there.

Kind of like that ball hussy got out on? ;) That s*** turned so hard out of the rough they thought it was a knick.

Agreed on all of this. Its pretty scary just how important the first session is going to be. If freddy comes on, juiced to the max looking to risk serious injury to bowl at max, there are gonna be some high intensity overs... should make for good viewing at least.

Not to jinx the guy but what are the odds Johnson can repeat his south africa century at the best of times, let alone under the pressure of saving an ashes test AND when hes totally out of bowling form... f***en haddin and clarke better ride it out, fingers crossed.

Yeah its either gonna be an awesome finish that comes down to the line and either team can win, or its gonna be over in the first hour.

I used to think that McGill was a tosser however, I think that from what I've seen he is doing a great job hosting for SBS. I was starting to question whether my taste had taken a turn for the worse but the fact that Spook hates him reinforces for me that he is doing a good job.

I'm really hoping that Clarke and Haddin can hang in there for awhile and make a game of it.

The tail wagged for Australia in the first innings. It would be unusual to happen twice. One of these guys are gone in the first they wont make it. If they are still there after the first hour England will panic.

Plenty of time to score the runs so theres no need to throw the bat.
England really need to attack hard.
My head says England will win but my heart says the aussies can do it.

so johnson needed to bat well, and he's nearly got his 50, but obviously clarke or haddin needed to stay in aswell, which they didnt, and now siddles out, its all over.

so will my mate daniel.
look for the bloke who does a lot of yelling.. hahah
day 1 and 2 he's going.

not a bad test match the lords match.
there is always a light hearted air about the ashes tests.

its a good spirited battle. flintoff is a perfect example of the jab sledging that england and aust have.

<3 the ashes.

we will one of the tests. i think it will come down to england having the ability to win another to seal it.

1st Test - one wicket away from victory (not quite good enough)
2nd Test - 115 runs away from victory (not quite good enough)

I sure hope this isn't the trend - almost there, but not quite good enough...
