FoxSports says its Net Vote was 80% Australia to win a close a Series.

Im tipping England 2-0 Mostly because I cant see the Aussie bowling attack being able to bowl England out twice.

Superboss, serious question - are you able to get a feel for when there is a potential nick off the bat before you see the fielders go up for it?

Aussies seem to be bowling good enough, though it always seems like tails do the damage to Australia, for whatever f***ing backwards reason.

edit: take that back now :P 3 for 192 and the bowling is looking mighty pedestrian. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Nasser Hussein called it, just now...Warne is gone forever, now it's back to real cricket with a flat pitch and two ordinary spinners.

no hes not, Lee is. Clarke is fine and should have been in. Horrible, Hourendous, or whatever his name is, is in because hes a spinner and its supposed to be a turning wicket. Well the guy has to be able to bowl decent spin to make having him worth while, and hes crap. His not an attacking or wicket taking bowler and should not be even on the tour.

7/336 isn't bad for either team really, just need to get those 2 wickets quickly tonight

no idea why clark isn't in over hilfenhaus

From the foxsports website:

Hilfenhaus will get the call up over Stuart Clark who is not in the best form.
-------------------------------

Seems like Clark just isn't performing so they've opted for the inform Hilfenhaus.

Not a bad effort from England, everybody contributed a little.

That wicket looks like it wont have any grass left on it in a day or so.

300 on the first day is a good score for the team batting first.
less than 300 is good for the fielding side.
336 is very good.

The brits were all saying how it might seem a bit low for test cricket (englands runs) but with the way the wicket was going it was probably worth more than the number implies.

The wicket certainly looked like it was going to s*** close up, way more flaky ass looking dirt than totally colourless grass that barely looked attached.

Where's Heardy with his indepth updates!!! He's at the game i thought!

As for the pitch it was pretty atrocious, +1 for flaky as! On top of that the ball seemed to lose height if it was bowled half-way down the pitch...

I reckon 336 on the first day of the first test is a good score. You'd be happy with that. The Ashes is a lot of pressure compared to your avg international test - attracts a lot of attention.

cricket = lol !!!!!!!
what a funny sport and yet another thats let down by its fans....

they should burn everything/anything to do with the game, now theres some ashes id be proud of winning !!!!!!

like a googly down silly mid off, 'tis but a lazy mans game....

so we get dumb ashes dominating news headlines now.....

outcome is always the same...

england losers, and australian loses for having anything to do with it in the 1st place.

typical that it would be popular on qgl....like lol tf2.....

oh man 430 ?

Anyone see Swan wink at johnson ?
He'd hit him for 2 boundaries and a 2 and Johnson must have said something. Swan turns to him and gives him a 'shes sweet mate' type of wink and grin.

even Monty can play Horror-itz.

Mogs I was there mate!!!

I wasn't thinking about qgl when there is beer to drink and ashes cricket to watch ;)

Was only there for days 1 and 2, spewing now that I didn't get tickets to the first 4 days!!

Witnessed 2 great tons today and Hughes looked in good touch.

Hikfenhouse (s/p) was the pick of the bowlers on day 1 and Punter/Katich kicked serious arse today!!

I've not slept much and drank lots so this post probably doesn't make much sense :)

wtf happened to the pommy bowlers ?

maybe the aussie bowlers werent to bad after all. its just a dead wicket.
Bit like the one where South Africa chased down 400 here.

The aussies need to get another 200-50. Dont want be chasing to many batting last.

FoxSports should have a mic in with the Aussie fans.
Im not a big fan of Commentary and usually watch the cricket with just the sound of the crowd. Occasionally switch to commentary if something unusual happens. I know a few ppl like to turn on the abc radio too.

England is mightily f***ed if the rain holds off, pretty much the only thing keeping england in the game right now is the approaching wheather.

Well-played by the poms to get a draw. A hard grind from a tough position done well. Australia helped cause their own problems wasting time with a 675 total if you ask me.

Well i did say i thought Australia would have trouble bowling England out twice. lolz

I went to bed just after Monty got in. didnt look like he was gonna last.
Great knock from Collingwood.
Punter once again fails at Captaincy.
Can someone show Siddle how to bowl a yorker ?

he was unlucky not to get more wickets;

johnson was disappointing, i guess he was tired

i really thought we had it in the bag when collingwood went

Can we blame that bloke who invaded the pitch because his daughter was sacked by Ryanair?
