Heh funny, but srsly, Macs aren't all that. My sisters f***ed up the other day trying to install one of those system updates (from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6) - each time trying to install this update (which, according to one of those ads ^, is something only Windows users need to do, wtf), it would just freeze and lock up the OS requiring a reset. Finally figured out you can download the patches as standalone files and install them and that fixed it all up. But really, it's pretty ballsy of them saying Macs are trouble free. Don't think I've ever had that problem with Windows Update on ANY PC I've ever run. |

God I hate these ads.
It probably cosst a lot of money to produce and market this silly image, that cost is obviously passed onto the consumers in the form of overpriced products. |

I think Macs are generally hassle free it's just that _initially_ you don't get a choice of how to do things.
I think the philosophy of the Mac is that *they*, as in Apple, know better than us fiddlesticks users. Of course, if something really irks, then it's *usually* possible to customize it using the terminal / darwin underneath. Looking at the uptime of this Macintosh since Xmas, generally the uptime is between 2 weeks and a Month. Not bad for a portable that's getting a fair bit of tinkering done to it. |
