According to Moore's law I predict this to be the speed in 2013.

With many speed checkers around on the internet you will find that speed tester results can vary greatly depending on the website and where it is physically hosted. Our broadband speed tester is hosted on a very fast Australian server. This is why our speed checker results can be faster than some of the other speed test sites.

32000/4000
their end is lame, cos this is gbit full duplex

and after it finishes, it always errors from this connection:

Errors
Please wait while you are redirected to the front page or press here.
Oh dear. An error has occured. We apologise for any inconvenience.

and my bigpond cable at home using their test gets only 19000 down and 250 up, yet pulling files all the way from bigpond files in sydney I get 25000 or more

Yay for being 9km (As the Crow flies) from nearest exchange. No-way would I consider where I live to be the Sticks (Daisy Hill.) I wonder if i'm in the 90%...

well i'm just as far from the CBD as you scooter, just not in that direction. it's all about how far from the exchange you are of course, and it's surprising to see that anyone can be 9km from an exchange in suburbia.

Ok, I over estimated the distance a little, Google maps said it's only 6km.
Still, it's not close.

Edit: It cut through the environmental forest some how, 6.5k by the roads you would have to take.

Site seems a little dodgy, I did it three times and got a pretty huge variation in my results, one time it got halfway through the download test then just hung for a good 10 - 15 seconds, then started up again.

Download Speed: 13099kbps (1637.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 738kbps (92.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Seemed to be the most stable/believable result I got out of my attempts.

I agree
sync speed from your modem page is all that matters;
I reckon the best measure is a download from your ISP, and then compare everything else against that

my sync speeds match my download speeds on torrents (or from big sites like apple/microsoft) and my uploads to my webspace!

router sync speed pages for the win!
