Top project. If I didn't already have something on the go I'd be onto this. The_cl1cky Discuss. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7550/powermonitorsystem78950du8.jpg |

Someone is going to kill/injure themselves trying to replicate this.

i'm more interested in that dude's fishcam! ;D although he's got some pretty boring fish ;p
i monitor my home power with an edmi genius meter coz i work for edmi & i built a few extra meters from spare parts & use them at home for 'long term testing' ;p i can communicate with it via an optical port & use our purpose made pc software to view/log stats. :D |

on another power related question.
Being the insufferable tight-arse that I am, I've got into the habit of turning appliances off at the wall when I'm not using them. Since I've started doing this I've had a set top box, dvd player and a water pump short out (won't turn on). |

I got a power related problem myself.
Comp runs fine all day. Night time around 9 i turn on the Air-Con then get random Blue screens that happen faster and faster till i cant use the comp anymore. This problem has got worse recently and only started happening about 3 weeks ago. I was wondering if one of those UPS things might help. Do they do a regulated supply of power ? |

yes faceman, but your aircon should be on a different 240v circuit than your pc anyway
slaps; parents got into the habbit of turning off the media room power board at the wall (so foxtel iq, tv, xbox & aircon etc) not too long after they started doing it the tv died |

more like 'Made in China' syndrome.
The 3 items that have failed were all made in China. The other appliances that are made in Japan(older appliances), Korea or Malaysia are unaffected. |
