EA/Dice, take note: This is what happens when you just keep trying to pump out Mortal Kombat (or any other franchise) titles.

when I heard about Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics I knew something wasn't right, I had a feeling that they were in trouble and made a last desperate attempt to ease the pain/pull them out.

I think the real shame was that MK vs DC could have been awesome, but instead was marred by so many poor decisions...

The whole franchise was pretty dated.

I can't even guess to how many sequels Ed and Tobias made.

RIP MKII

Include sega/nintendo in that list for recent sonic/mario abominations.

Yer, Sonic has been a bit of a fail-cake recently but Mario has been largely successful. Even his titles that don't review so well still sell.

I hope the Midway IP finds a good time. They might have lost the plot with Kombat for the most part, but they still had some redeeming features.

Also Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is still _the_ best co-op beat-em up I've played in the last 10 years, I rate it above The Warriors.

The 'vs DC' project was originally named "MK8" if that gives you any hints..

It's strange, Shaolin Monks from 2005 was apparently the 9th. Maybe a branch.

Could be that the 'MK8' referred to it being the 8th in the 'beat em up' series. There's been a number of non-1v1 fighting MK titles..
