So it seems Ten has released into the wild their new SD and HD Digital channels - One HD and One Digital. I'll be doing a rescan tonight.

My tv just picked up One HD. No mention of One Digital, unless it'll be using an existing channel.

Ah, i know this will be old news to some, but apparently when the One channel launches, Ten wont have a regular "Ten HD".

Yeah I've been watching NBA on (currently)TenHD and it's frickin' awesome in 1080i. I hope they don't dump the TenHD for regular programming altogether though.

I think maybe the bandwidth needed to broadcast in HD is a lot more intense, and they can probably only afford / only have the equipment to broadcast 1 channel in HD?

Besides, name a good non-sports TV show on channel 10.

Only Season 20 of the Simpson's (the latest Season, not even sure if its aired in Aus yet) is in HD picture and sound, so it's not like you're missing much.

1) Old s*** that doesn't even have HD picture/sound

Agreed, much prefer to watch sport in HD than any of the crap any of the commercial stations show that is actually in HD.

It looks horrible compared to HD.

This is pretty gay, sport in HD will be cool, but I want to be able to watch normal TV in HD, I assume there isnt enough bandwidth to do the normal channel in HD aswell, otherwise if they arent doing it becuase they just dont want to then thats dumb.

Well that sounds retarded, HD is the future and is head and shoulders above SD Digital.

I honestly don't think Digital is that much better (picture wise) than Analogue (provided you have a good signal). It almost looks out of focus compared to HD.

I really don't watch a great deal of TV but I'm a bit pissed at this, f*** the sport channel.

Heh, no probs. Seriously, since we setup the Media-PC in our lounge it's changed our viewing habits completely. Sometimes we see what's on tele, but if nothing is on we cruise YouTube instead or go to one of those streaming sites and find something to watch there. Sometimes we chat to lifecasters, whatever. The other night we found some black yankee unemployed lifecaster smoking a bong in front of his webcam, so we stopped to pay *homage* to him. There's some interesting peeps out there, that's for sure.

Also, hot tip, don't buy a Logitech diNovo Mini - it seems like a good idea but it's too frustrating. Just get a decent bluetooth kb/mouse with a good range on it for your Media-PC.

Exactly. The only channel I watched for free to air is the ABCs and now Ten sports in HD. If I watched news, I watch the ABC and SBS as I hate the news you get with commercial channels.

New Zealand have a free music channel that plays clips all day, but shows the odd sitcom at night (Family Guy at 6, and maybe something else later).

ok. yer i dont think my tv is digital coz it was $150 down to $88 on special and its small so it prob wont be digitla. i odnt want to buy a digital box for $40 coz they only channel ill watch it ONE but i only wanna watch it for the baseball and NFL so ofr 2 shows ders no point, and i wanna get foxtel soon
