Might be a bit early but anyone keen enough to preorder this bad boy? xbox 360 represent'n.

$120 is hella steep but i'll prolly end up going halves with a mate (for both game and arcade stick).

I'll need to dragon punch/tiger uppercut as many qgl newbs as possible so add me to your live friend's list as per sig - The Match Fixer

In the meantime you'll find me on FIFA 09 and SF2HD remix sharpening my left nut (don't ask why cause i don't know either).

P.S. i can see my postgraduate study is going to take a 15 hit combo because of this :(

Why so dear?

Is it to compensate for the recent (but limited) arcade release?

I am down for this

need to buy a console too; PS3 seems to be the best choice.

I'm a bit wary of how slow it will be multiplayer over the network. 40ms isn't much, but it is a reaction game..

There's a PC port coming too, right?

I saw this in at Reply on Albert St the other day - looked shiny!

If you don't already own any of the consoles perhaps the PS3 would be the better choice just because of the PS controller. The D pad on the xbox 360 is just a nightmare. I'm getting used to it so it's more like a weird dream but the arcade stick would be the way to go.

Though I suspect playing online would be better on the 360. Not sure about the PC. Don't think it's a port but who play fighting games on a PC anyway? Will have to wait and see.

Also According to Gamespot, Capcom will be releasing a collectors eddition for Australia for an extra $40 which will include Ryu (PS3) and Crimson Vyper (360) figurines set against the crowded Chinese downtown backdrop, as well as the anime, hint book, and downloadable content, but they will lack the soundtrack CD.

Sounds like extra rubbish content to get more suckers sucked in to their suckery if you ask suckers like me.

Why are people buying a PS3 for it? You could buy a 360, the game, and an arcade stick, for less than the cost of a PS3 by itself.

because they prefer a ps3 over the 360?

$120? Fark why do they charge so much? Especialy When I bought this for $150 which included semi expensive shipping.

http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/2046/djpc01qv9.jpg

If you took out the shipping, it'd be only $105 AUD which is STILL cheaper than most EB new release games and this has so many more extras. And the industry wonders why piracy is so big.

well the PS3 can also function as a blu ray player so you save money there by not buying a Standalone Blu Ray player.. The xbox 360 controllers are f***ing arse compared to the PS3.. PS3 have 1080p resolution if that matters for anyone and if games utilise it... xbox however have a larger range of games and is cheaper than the ps3, but I can afford the PS3, I don't really like console games much apart from the upcoming SF4 and Gradius VI wheneva it decides to come out.. There's probably other games I'd like aswell, espcially arcade type style 2d games...

Yeah because thats SO worth remembering ¬_¬

I do love my PS3 though. My 360 has an annoying habit of giving me a disc read error and just closing my game so its kinda pointless playing anything other than rock band or GH4 on it. I know the new update lets you install games to the drive but fark I shouldn't have to do that

I know the PS3's are powerful and all but fark I shouldn't have to pay extra for a console because it has blue ray.

Get this, you can preorder SF4 from JB Hifi for $99, yet the "LIMITED EDITION" is going for $199.

WTF?

You better hope the limited edition comes with an arcade cabnit stuck to a massive 79" LCD screen

The diff is not so great in the US.

You can get an entry level Ps3 for $370; I think Xbox is around 200.

Whats' rubbish is the joysticks. There is a steel SF4 microswitched (single) joystick package and it is $150 *just* for the joystick!

Might have to dig out the old SNES tank and pin switch it eh.

Why would you buy a SF4 stick for USD150? You can get a Hori stick (Real Arcade Pro 3 for PS3 or Real Arcade Pro EX for Xbox 360) for less. Hori use the same Sanwa parts, so there's no difference in build quality.

Worthy resurrection with a question:

CD WOW! have SF4 advertised for $61.95 including free delivery. This is the EU PAL version.

The AUS PAL Version is $112.95 (it's not indicated on the site but i emailed the dudes at cdwow and they confirmed it).

What i wanna know is.. what's the difference between the two PAL versions? are they interchangable? and why is the aussie PAL version twice as expensive?

I'm pretty sure PAL versions are interchangable. It's so cheap because new release games can be bought for just under £30.

So why would you bother paying twice as much when you can just get the cheaper one?

It's like there's a catch and you won't know it until after you buy it. Then you hear a david chapell like voice: "gotcha bitch!"

Its perfectly interchangeable, I bought the UK version of Rock Band 2 for 360, and it works fine on my australian 360.

Interesting.

Because i emailed them asking if they're interchangeable and his answer was:

"Hi

Thank you for contacting us.

I would like to inform you that the Australian version of the game will be only in the Australian consoles and the other one can be played on European consoles.

If you have any further enquiries then please do not hesitate to contact us - we're here to help!"

Or is he just off his guts..

I remember a lot of dudes on this forum saying they use euro PAL with no problems.

Cheap price but, might actually buy it for PS3.

Yeah it's definitely the cheapest I've found so far and it'll be hard to beat.

Though i'm not sure about the madcatz arcade stick for $150. I've read that their previous stuff wasn't that great so i'm still a lil skeptical..

I think hes speaking s***, euro PAL stuff has always worked on australian systems. Sounds like he just wants to sell you the more expensive one! I'm gonna order the euro one, $61 is heaps cheap, especially since its free delivery.

u can get sf4 cheap for ps3 and xbox and i know the xbox controller is crappy cause i have one myself and i hate playing hd with it so i invested $70 on getting the xfps adapter so u can play with a ps2 controller instead just google xfps if you want to see it
also about getting sf4 cheap you have to get it from http://www.cdwow.com.au/Street-Fighter-IV/product/view/6274949 there as it is around $65 for any console.

Why spend $70 to play with a PS2 controller? You'd be better off putting that money towards a proper arcade stick.

The xbox 360 controllers are f***ing arse compared to the PS3..

I think you'll find that you're both wrong, and retarded.
PS3 have 1080p resolution if that matters for anyone and if games utilise it...

So does the 360, except the 360 actually comes with decent cables out of the box.

I own both, and the PS3 is only used for streaming TV and movies.

Javs so you resurrected the thread only to tell us something we already know. You'll find that I mentioned it in a few posts above. Couple of weeks ago it was actually advertised for 61.95 but has now gone up to 65 for whatever reason.

Anyway i preordered it a few days ago, watch out for me bitches.

dam i couldnt find the xbox version but hectic site $4 cheaper than cdwow,..
another tip on using cdwow just type in www.cdwow.com it should take you t the euro version then purchase in euro dollars
so it actually works out cheaper in aus dollars apparently we are on 1EU$ = $1.99AU$ so double i bought my xbox sf4 for $27.99EURO so it was like $56.00AU
