They may as well hedge their bets with alternative fuels because oil will one day run out but even if it didn't they could make money from both oil and greener power. They have enough money to develop amazing new technology. Oil certainly is a gift from god to them, 781 billion worth. This company reminds me of GLOBEX/Cypress Creek/Hank Scorpio from the Simpsons.

It's funny how he immediately goes no to her when she asks about Americans driving less and about the fears for the environment and she did ask some annoying questions at the end but she wasn't as bad as say Barbara Walter's voice.

"IMs??"

It was all pretty much old news for me except for the last few sentences, the concept of exporting power instead of fuel is a fascinating one to consider for the future!

kos - he means exporting electricity via transmission lines to other middle eastern countries no doubt. so just an interconnected grid, nothing amazing.

prove how she was ignorant.

i thought it was a bland report that gave the Saudis a chance to spin themselves as some sort of community minded folk.

like when they limit production of oil to bolster the price and all that s***.

im not smug, i know and understand they have us by the short and curlies and will have no hesitation in pulling the trigger whenever they feel like. smug is complacency, so not in this instance.

Correct. Saudi Aramco is a company in a country which is part of OPEC which only represents 35% of oil production. So no, the Saudi's don't run the worlds oil.

PS oil sucks.

Sure for the moment that seems like the only feasible intention, but if you can look deeper into the future where we are much more reliant on sources like solar power then I can imagine it happening on a much more advanced and broader scale. Though I do agree that what I am imagining is science fiction for now.
