Aren't cars rated for a certain number of passengers?
And aren't learner drivers only allowed a single passenger who is the instructor?

I'm fairly certain you can drive with more than the instructor in the car when you're on your learners.

It seems slightly weird that it's not illegal to drive with more passengers than number of seats though...

"The driver COULD BE CHARGED WITH CARELESS DRIVING OR A RANGE OF OTHER THINGS, but just simply if they were driving along and had that many people in the car, it isn't an offence, and that's the law.''

"In fact it's the number of seat belts. I think it's four or something in this car, and if those people had the seatbelts on, no, it's not an offence.

I've had 6 people in my (4 seater) Jeep before. I was the only person Sober and the guys wanted to go into the City.

Never again would we try to have all those people in the Jeep.

I thought it would of been illigeal, I know that Boats have it (max passangers) stamped on their compliance plate.

Some older cars don't have seatbelts in backseat. So you'd have more people than seatbelts.

If they are there, they have to wear them obviously.

It was pretty uncomfortable. And cold.

we had seven people in a barina back from the valley to taringa one night. two in the front, four in the back and devil in the boot. we were all sober, except for devil because he found a sixpack in the boot and figured it was fair game since he was curled up around the sub, with the 6x9s on top of him. good times.

I remember me and a mate rolling about in the back of a panel van on the way home from school a few times because there weren't even any seats back there.

countdown to nF projecting his own homosexuality by turning that statement into something dirty.

Yeah I had to squeeze two guys into my boot in a sixty-nine position once.

It was an efficient position to accomodate both of them.

It may be legal for you to have as many people as you like in the car here, but I'm pretty sure it isn't legal to have them in the boot...

I'd imagine that the majority of the time, if you have someone in the boot of your car, getting a fine is the least of your problems.
